I think it is safe to say that we have never seen anything like this in our lifetimes and, unless Trump is elected again we never will again, an entire branch of the U.S. Military taking to task a former U.S. President and current candidate for that position, even if not explicitly by name, for his behavior. Today the Army issued a statement on the incident at Arlington National Cemetery during which a female Arlington staffer was shoved and verbally assaulted. They did not mince words:
“Arlington National Cemetery routinely hosts public wreath laying ceremonies at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier for individuals and groups who submit requests in advance. ANC conducts nearly 3,000 such public ceremonies a year without incident.
Participants in the August 26th ceremony and the subsequent Section 60 visit were made aware of federal laws, Army regulations and DoD policies, which clearly prohibit political activities on cemetery grounds. An ANC employee who attempted to ensure adherence to these rules was abruptly pushed aside. Consistent with the decorum expected at ANC, this employee acted with professionalism and avoided further disruption. The incident was reported to the JBM-HH police department, but the employee subsequently decided not to press charges. Therefore, the Army considers this matter closed.
This incident was unfortunate, and it is also unfortunate that the ANC employee and her professionalism has been unfairly attacked. ANC is a national shrine to the honored dead of the Armed Forces, and its dedicated staff will continue to ensure public ceremonies are conducted with the dignity and respect the nation’s fallen deserve.“
“WASHINGTON (Reuters) -The U.S. Army defended an Arlington National Cemetery employee who was pushed aside during a visit by former President Donald Trump, saying that she acted professionally and was being unfairly attacked.
The military rarely comments on political matters and while its statement on Thursday did not explicitly mention Trump or his campaign, it made reference to a Monday ceremony.
On that day Trump, the Republican candidate in the Nov. 5 presidential election, visited the cemetery and took part in a wreath-laying ceremony honoring the 13 servicemembers killed during the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021.
He also visited Section 60 of the cemetery, where troops are buried and is considered hallowed ground in the military.
Federal law and Pentagon policies do not allow political activities in that section of the cemetery, but videos were taken by Trump’s campaign and used in advertisements.“
If one is running to be Commander-in-Chief, having an entire component of that military condemning your actions cannot be good, this might even get the attention of some of his most fervent supporters who are ex-military…
For the record, Trump was the first Republican in recent memory to lose the military vote in 2020. His policies, comments, and disrespect steadily created confusion, resentment, and lack of confidence during his first term, leading to that shocking turn of events.
Fast forward;…— redandblackattack (@redanblacattack) August 29, 2024
The fact that the employee did not want to press charges seems entirely beside the point. They broke the law. So now if I rob a teller at the bank and they decide not to press charges then I get to keep the money. The bank considers the case to be closed, right?

Exactly
How long before trump attacks this and the military saying it’s “woke” and he will fire everyone if he’s elected.

Yup
Above all this question remains – will Donald Trump ever be held accountable for any of his actions?
It seems to me rather than double secret probation, SOMEONE NEEDS TO PRESS CHARGES!!! I thought one of the major components of prosecuting law breakers was to DISCOURAGE any further similar acts. Goddamnit grow a set of balls!!! The 400,000 dead heroes can’t speak for themselves. You keep giving this nazi a pass only ENCOURAGES the nazis. The leaders tried that in the 1930s…IT NEVER WORKS! When are you going to honor any goddamn thing? I bet if a bunch of black teenagers were doing selfies and yucking it up at those graves by pushing that employee aside, they’d be staring at the ground with their hands cuffed. GODDAMNIT AMERICA I’M SICK OF YOUR PHUCKING DOUBLE STANDARDS! PROSECUTE! OTHERWISE YOU ARE JUST AS GUILTY OF DISHONORING THOSE HEROES AS TRUMP! FACT!!!!!!
There should be no hesitation! PRESS CHARGES ! ! ! The debasement and dishonorable behavior of all involved should NOT go unpunished!
Here’s a tangential thought: The Harris campaign, or the DNC, should get a copy of the Arlington debacle video and turn it into an ad showcasing Von Schitzie’s disregard for regulations and protocol.
Another one: I wasn’t aware that TFG lost the military vote in 2020. Under Project 1825 and as proclaimed by The Blob, military brass deemed not properly loyal to him would be “fired”. Our military readiness would be severely affected as this purge worked its way through the ranks, and could lead to him upgrading the rag-tag MAGA “militias” to active duty to fill in. Wouldn’t THAT be a sight?
I think back to my days stationed at Henderson Hall in Arlington (it’s since been absorbed into Ft. Meyer) and down along Carpenter Rd. which ran the length of the east border of the Post was a low stone wall. On the other side was Arlington National Cemetery. In those years I spent a fair amount of time on those grounds. And sometimes during PT we’d go on formation runs. We were careful to not get near any spots where a burial was taking place or where things were set up for one. We also didn’t engage in the typical running chats which can get pretty raunchy. Just a soft cadence now and then to keep us in step. The skipper would scan gravestones and sometimes call us to a quick halt. Then either a left or right face, and he’d read off the name and rank of the person buried there. Sometimes it would be just some lowly ranked enlisted guy with little information. And sometimes some seriously high level combat awards were listed. He’d always say remember them. Then, in their honor drop and do fifty (pushups) Then it was up to continue our run.
I don’t think what we did was disrespectful. On the contrary. We quietly ran together among heroes, stopped sometimes to truly look at the names and the service they gave, and since in PT gear one doesn’t salute we gave a different form of salute.
It wasn’t a time or place for smiling or joking, but rather remembering and honoring in a quiet way. I see the shit with Trump and it makes my blood boil. If there was an open grave close by for a burial later on it would be worth going to jail to walk up pretending to be a supporter of his and suddenly grab his fat ass and throw him into that open grave! And it the steel lowering device was set up grab as many cameras and phones as I could and smash them against it before the Secret Service could intervene. (Since many of the toadies who let someone take a shot at him have been replaced with professionals who knows? They might just take their time before arresting me!)
This is definitely going to trip him up on his declaration of statewide Martial law ‘when he resumes power.’ (snark)
