This is interesting. See if this makes sense to you. Donald Trump is a convicted felon. Ergo, you would reasonably think that the plight of convicted felons is important to him, right? Wrong. Trump wants you to be angry that Tim Walz backed a bill allowing over 50,000 disenfranched convicted felons to vote. Whut? Exactly.
Trump campaign press secretary Karoline Leavitt released a statement Tuesday decrying Vice President Kamala Harris’s selection of “Radical Leftist Tim Walz” as her running mate.
Leavitt criticized Walz for “embracing policies to allow convicted felons to vote,” as part of his obsession “with spreading California’s dangerously liberal agenda far and wide.”
As Minnesota governor, Walz signed a bill in June 2023 restoring the right to vote to more than 50,000 Minnesotans on parole, probation, or community release due to a felony conviction.
Despite Leavitt’s griping, Trump himself is the beneficiary of a policy allowing convicted felons to vote.
Trump is currently still eligible to vote in Florida, where he is registered, because Florida election law says that he has that right so long as he is able to vote in the state where he was convicted. In New York state, a person is only disenfranchised while incarcerated, so unless Trump is sentenced to prison in his New York hush-money trial, he can still vote, according to the Brennan Center for Justice.
Gee, there’s that pesky detail, “unless incarcerated.” Trump can’t vote for himself should he be sentenced and actually serve time. We know he will be sentenced in about six weeks, on September 18, that’s carved in stone, despite all Trump’s efforts to make it go away. And it’s assumed at this point that he won’t have any prison time, due to his 34 felony counts being first time convictions.
That’s probably how it will go down. Or, there may be some prison time, but it would probably be deferred until after the election. Or, more probably, Trump will be sentenced to some prison time for one of his other criminal trials.
The laughable point here, though, is that Trump wants the privilege to vote to be available to him, as a convicted felon, but if that privilege is granted to others, then that’s a wild radical liberal concept and therefore no good. How can he be that stupid? Hey, if only I had the answer.

Apparently DON THE CON forgot that HE IS A CONVICTED FELON! To be sentenced in September…. not soon enough for America.
He’s stuck in the republican ‘It’s not what I do, it’s what I say.’ hypocritical double standard.
Transparently pathetic.
Irony? Impossible. You’d have to think first.
WTF? Has von shitzinpants’ little serfette become von shitzinbrain? What a dumb….hell, just fill in the blank with whatever you feel is appropriate.
F*ck these people are dumber than the dumbest m-f*ckers that have ever lived.
this leavitt person just earned today’s Dumbest Mother-fucker on the planet award. Hope she’s real proud because I’m pretty sure it’s the only award she’ll ever receive unless she says something even stupider tomorrow (which, now that I think about it, is entirely possible).
