Gentlemen, Start your ENGINES!   Indianapolis 500 race announcement

I have been writing off and on for a couple of months now how Trump’s vengeful thirst for revenge against party traitors was a total crapshoot. And now, on both MSNBC as well as CNN, you have analysts and guests agreeing with me.

Let’s be clear. Right now, His Lowness is still by far and away the most popular figure in the GOP, and unless he’s caught red handed in a candlelight and wine dinner with Hillary Clinton, that isn’t going to change. But an MSNBC analyst summed it up perfectly yesterday when she said, Trump loves the idea of sitting on his throne down in Mar-A-Lago and playing Kingmaker, the problem is that in order to be a Kingmaker, you actually have to make Kings. And Trump has shown no ability to do that.

Truer words were never spoken. I have written repeatedly that Traitor Tot has the political coattails of a windbreaker. Pretty much every endorsement he makes turns to shit. Note that Trump first endorsed Luther Strong in the primary, and when Strange lost, switched his allegiance to child predator Judge Roy Moore, handing the Democrats an Alabama Senate seat. And then he endorsed a truly pathetic GOP candidate in a PA House special election, only to hand Democrat Conor Lamb a seat in what was nationally regarded as the most gerrymandered district in America.

So far this year, Trump has handed out more than 100 endorsements, in all kinds of races. For instance, in Georgia, Trump bullied losing Senator David Perdue into running for Georgia Governor, simply because current GOP Governor Brian Kemp defied him by certifying the Georgia election results for Biden. The last poll I saw showed Perdue down almost 11 points.

In the House, The Cheeto Prophet is handing out endorsements like Halloween candy. But he is not doing it by evaluating the candidate with the best chance to win, thereby strengthening the GOP caucus. He instead has two personal criteria. First, he is endorsing far right challengers to GOP incumbents who pissed him off. It doesn’t matter that the candidate may well be unelectable in a general election in a swing district, Trump will consider it a victory if the offending incumbent loses.

Second, in Democratic held districts, including highly competitive swing districts, he is endorsing the farthest right candidates that will swear ultimate fealty to him, even if the candidate has no chance to win the general election. Remember, this is all a game of skittles to Trump, he doesn’t give a shit about any GOP majority, he just wants Trump loyalists sitting in the chairs if possible.

His choices in the Senate aren’t much better. In Georgia, he is endorsing spouse abusing former NFL, carpetbagging Herschel Walker. Remember, Trump is at his heart and soul a racist. His calculation is that in Georgia, any GOP African American can beat a Democratic African American. Good luck with that one, Hair Twitler.

In Pennsylvania, Trumpenstein is endorsing world renowned quack Dr Oz. Nevermind the fact that Oz is mired in the middle of the pack, not even in striking distance at this point, he showed the proper fealty to the Orange Shitgibbon. And in Ohio, The Trumpster Fire is endorsing multi billionaire Hillbilly Elegy idjit JD Vance, despite Vance calling him America’s version of Hitler 6 years ago. Vance also properly debased himself enough to earn the endorsement, despite the fact that he’s not even in the lead.

Here’s why this is so important for 2024. If Trump anointed acolytes lose in the primaries, then Trump is a loser who can’t pick a primary winner. And if they survive and lose in the general election, then Trump is a loser that can’t bring home the bacon for the party. Either way, Trump is a loser, his power in the party is diminished.

The 2022 GOP primaries and general election could be a canary-in- the-coalmine for 2024. Once again in 2024, there will be a wide open field of GOP candidates. But the anti Trump GOP forces are mobilizing, and getting stronger. If Trump takes a shave-and-a haircut in 2022 on his endorsements, why would more moderate GOP candidates in swing district House races, and in the Senate, worry about running against a Trump acolyte? His endorsement isn’t worth a bowl of piss Jack Daniels.

If this plays out the way I think it might, then 2024 could end up being a rerun of 2020. Trump runs for another term. GOP voters show up to vote for more moderate House and Senate GOP candidates, but send Trumpelthinskin down to another resounding defeat. Don’t touch that dial.

  1. I see this year as Phase 1 of the non-Trump Republicans delousing operation. Once enough of the Trump zombies are eliminated, they’ll move onto Phase 2, which I don’t see kicking off until after 2024 minimum.
