I never thought I’d see the day when Marjorie Taylor Greene would say something *against* Trump. But she has, and lo, I am amazed. Seriously, folks, seriously. Here, have some MTG quotes from Raw Story:

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) lashed out at President Donald Trump’s decision to bomb Iran. In a Sunday post on X, Greene gave her thoughts about the president’s military operation. “I don’t know anyone in America who has been the victim of a crime or killed by Iran,” she complained. “America has not dropped bunker busters on the Cartel’s sophisticated drug tunnels, launched tomahawks on massive cartel poisonous drug operations, or gone to war against the cartels [sic] international terrorists [sic] networks.”

“Neocon warmongers beat their drums of war and act like Billy badasses going to war in countries most Americans have never seen and can’t find on a map, but never find the courage to go to war against the actual terrorists who actually do kill Americans, invade our land, and make BILLIONS doing it day after day, year after year,” she continued. “I’ve watched our country go to war in foreign lands for foreign causes on behalf of foreign interests for as long as I can remember… America is $37 TRILLION in debt and all of these foreign wars have cost Americans TRILLIONS AND TRILLIONS of dollars that never benefited any American. American troops have been killed and forever torn apart physically and mentally for regime change, foreign wars, and for military industrial base profits. I’m sick of it.”

See what I mean? I’m a bit stunned. Now, sure, she got in a dig at immigrants. Her viewpoint matches Trumpolini’s there. Yet she’s against bombing Iran. I agree with her on that part. Mark this day on your calendars, folks, because I am partly in tune with MTG, of all people. I never even thought about that because it wasn’t going to happen. But it has. Wow. It has. Let’s hear some more from her, shall we?

Greene insisted she did not want to “fight or fund nuclear armed Israel’s wars.” “I’m sick of funding foreign aid and foreign countries and foreign everything,” the lawmaker ranted. “I can also support President Trump and his great administration on many of the great things they are doing while disagreeing on bombing Iran and getting involved in a hot war that Israel started.”

“That’s not disloyalty. Critical thinking and having my own opinions is the most American thing ever,” she added. “Now what has been done is done, and Americans now fear Iranian terrorists [sic] attacks on our own soil and being dragged into another war by Netanyahu when we weren’t even thinking about any of this a week ago. Enough is enough.”

Indeed. For one thing, what is Netanyahu thinking about all of this? He’s managed to pull the US into his war. That’s it, plain and simple. We are in a war not of our own making. Dammit. Just … dammit. Sock it to him, MTG. Thanks for sticking with me!

We thank all of you who have donated. You’re keeping this blog on the internet, believe me. One of the battles we fight is the inconsistency of ad revenue because politics in this country is so polarized, and a lot of advertisers just seek to avoid the political. They’d rather advertise on food blogs and be safe, doughnuts before democracy. All we’re trying to do is stay in business because we believe the work is important. Thank you if you can assist. If we didn’t need it, we wouldn’t be asking. Ursula

  1. I can’t believe I’m agreeing with this woman. I dislike her so much that I pass whenever I see her face on the computer or TV “news”. This time she is spot on & makes some excellent points that the TV talking heads have never mentioned. This “war” is a disaster & there couldn’t possibly be a worse person to oversee & make decisions about this or any war, than Donald Trump. The whole mess of Trump’s presidency has become very troubling & frightening.

  2. What has Ms Traitor Gangrene been smoking if she could *seriously* post the following:

“I can also support President Trump and his great administration on many of the great things they are doing while disagreeing on bombing Iran and getting involved in a hot war that Israel started. That’s not disloyalty. Critical thinking and having my own opinions is the most American thing ever.”

Now, I personally don’t disagree with that last sentence. She’s actually right in that (gods and demons and Cthulhu save me, I cannot believe I just typed that phrase–but I suppose, broken clocks and all that) but where the frack has she been for the past decade to believe the first part–that she can support Drumpf on 99 things but disagree with him on even 1 thing without Drumpf turning on her? Has she not watched how Drumpf behaves and reacts whenever ANY GOPer dares to disagree with Guy-Who-Paints-His-Face-Orange? Drumpf will disown her, disavow her being a MAGA at all since the ONLY RULE of MAGA is “Thou must publicly agree with Dear Leader on ALL matters as he has no concern about what thou thinkest in private. Yet.” (Fortunately, neither the “neural neutralizer” from the Star Trek episode, “Dagger of the Mind” nor the agony booth from the Star Trek episode, “Mirror, Mirror” has been created or Drumpf would be using them on the disloyal among MAGA.)

  3. Any chance MTG has breached the dam, is the canary in the coal mine, as to how MAGA thinking (!) will go? If this is spoken more loudly and gathers any sort of momentum, will it loosen the trance into which T has put Fox and MSM? Interesting times
