Let’s make this easy. The next person Trump will fire will be a drunk. Will he toss a coin? No, I think Kash Patel is the next to go and here’s why: he himself senses it. The Atlantic article that Kash so objects to contains an anecdote where he got locked out of the FBI computer for some technical reason. His reaction was to believe that he was fired and to tell his aides he had just been fired. So Patel feels the breath of Trump on his neck and he knows it’s coming. And then there is this from this morning.

Ron Filipkowski said that this tete a tete with Bartiromo reminded him of when Senator John Kennedy questioned Kristi Noem shortly before she was fired. It could be.

The Atlantic is defending their sources and bragging about the ability of their lawyers so there’s no fear factor over there. Patel may be about to find out the basic rule of defamation, which is that the truth is an absolute defense to defamation. Patel may find himself in the position of the guy that kicks over the hornet’s nest, wishing that he had not done so.

Patel is quite the flamboyant and colorful character and that is not what’s needed in an FBI director — unless Patel thinks FBI is the Federal Bureau of Intoxication.

If you think about it for a minute, Patel has already done what got Noem canned, which is to openly blow a lot of government money. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander and Patel may find himself canned for exactly what canned Noem.
