This has been quite the night. Donald Trump was offline for hours and then decided that he had to come back online and give directions to the troops (when he wasn’t busy bragging about his 60 Minutes ratings, as if anybody could give a shit about that.) But the conversation soon went exactly where you would expect.

These are the complete musings of Trump’s *intellect* and his solutions going forward. “Voter Reform” is God only knows what. Voter ID, you know all too well about and why it’s not a great idea, and no mail-in ballots is sheer madness. But hey, this is what we’ve been listening to for nine years now because Trump is the front man for the white supremacist replacement theory conspiracy and that’s what got him where he is. And from that perch he proceeds to do whatever he wants, including bulldozing the White House.

I think that history will record that tearing down the East Wing was the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back. At the very least the timing of it and the anti-Trump backlash that we see has not been good for the Republican party, at least not tonight.

Now Trump’s parting shot to us this Tuesday evening was “AND SO IT BEGINS.” This is trending on Twitter right now and it’s ambiguous enough to where there are different schools of thought about what it might mean.

That’s the school of thought I subscribe to, that this is the beginning of the end of MAGA. But Trump doesn’t have that level of insight, so what does it mean for him? I think he’s riffing on the election of Zohran Mamdani more than anything else. That’s Trump’s speed, make the most racist statement about the most racially charged race and tonight that was clearly Mamdani.

It is ultimately always about race. Once you grasp the sheer simplicity of the white supremacist white replacement doctrine, you’re there. MAGA makes sense, Trump makes sense, Fox News makes sense, why Obama had them all so freaked out, it all falls into place and makes perfect and complete sense. Here’s what Mamdani says.

“Q post?” Now we’re back to Q-Anon? Well, this is the racist dog whistle, folks. All signs seem to lead to that. That and screwing with voting because as long as there are free and fair elections in this country and there’s an anti-Trump backlash going on, the GOP is going to be hurting bigly.

Let’s see what happens with screwing around with voting procedures. Since the GOP suffers when there’s no bank of mail-in ballots, I wouldn’t lose sleep over that one.

But as to the racist dog whistle, yes, Trump has thrown down the gauntlet. It’s going to be a very very interesting 2026. The tide has turned. America is fighting back. Expect things to get ugly. I hate to be the prophetess of doom, but all signs point to that as well.

Power is never given, it is always taken and as polarized as this country is right now, the fight to get us back to some kind of sane middle ground and away from right-wing extremism is not going to be easy. But then, what worthwhile thing ever is easy?

  2. I don’t think it matters whether he gets the states to do away with mail in voting. I think the people have their minds made up and are determined to rid us of this horror show. I certainly hope that’s the case.
