It is unconscionable that CPAC hasn’t addressed this yet. The allegations that the head of CPAC, Matt Schlapp, the original grifter, allegedly sexually assaulted a prominent young staffer during a car ride to his hotel, fondling him and inviting him up to his room, are as credible as it gets. As I wrote two days ago, there was a phone call made two hours afterward, which is recorded, and now there are near-contemporaneous texts.
The young man is a veteran of many high-profile campaigns and won’t give his name because he’s afraid of political backlash (Only the GOP) unless Schlapp refutes the allegations, which… he has done. The other thing that CPAC and Schlapp have not done is step down or call for his resignation.

CNN reviewed a text exchange between the staffer and a friend in politics, where the staffer is clearly upset and wondering how to tell the campaign that one of their surrogates had allegedly assaulted him. The exchange is being made public for the first time.
“He’s pissed I didn’t follow him to his hotel room,” the staffer wrote. “I’m so sorry man,” the acquaintance responded. “What a f**king creep.” The staffer later texted, “I just don’t know how to say it to my superiors thst heir [sic] surrogate fondled my junk without my consent.”
That doesn’t sound made up. If someone wanted to set Schlapp up for a payout or something, that person would provide far more graphic details. This sounds like a young man simply informing a friend about what “generally” happened. It sounds real.
The staffer, an experienced political strategist who has worked on a number of high profile national and statewide campaigns has asked that his identity be withheld because of concerns over professional backlash. However, he says he will come forward if Schlapp publicly refutes his claims,
There is a dare. A smart one. He will keep his identity private so long as Schlapp doesn’t say it didn’t happen. Now we will see what happens because Schlapp is refuting the story:
“The attack is false and Mr. Schlapp denies any improper behavior,” Schlapp attorney Charlie Spies told CNN. “We are evaluating legal options for response.”
This will almost surely be settled very quietly; THAT is Schlapp’s “legal option.” The staffer will rightly be a rich man and scarred for life. Because the other thing one can hear in the phone call and the texts is fear. Enduring such attacks can be very damaging. I wish him well.
Schapp denies the allegations. I will note that one last time. I leave that denial to the consideration of the reader.

What a hypocrite. He hasn’t denied the accusation, his lawyer has. I would feel sorry for his wife, but she apparently is part of his grift.
I don’t think so , she is probably older and I’m sure this is not the first time she’s had to look the other way. She stays because of her children and Grandchildren .
Wives generally try to hang on to their belief that they married a decent man & the family they adore are all as perfect as possible. The idea of admitting that you knew who you had married means you have to admit to the grands that your whole life is a lie. That’s not what anyone does easily ! So – wives ‘stand by their men’ as long as they can even as they die inside at the realization their suspicions were correct – there are always hints about such stuff !
