This is very interesting. Some of Trump’s people are concerned about his behavior. He is deeply impulsive and does not have the checks and balances that he had in his first term as President. That’s already gotten him into trouble on a number of different things. (Gee, ya think?)

Let’s start with the Russia–Ukraine war, which Russia started. He first said he’d have the war over on his first day. He didn’t. Now, Putin has him on a leash. Trump is waffling around about sanctions because he still thinks he can work out some sort of ceasefire, at the very least. Well, it’s obvious that he hasn’t and *can’t*.

Agent Orange has abandoned Ukraine, and that is such a load of crap. He infuriates me with his indecision amid what’s been happening over there. The attacks from Russia get worse and worse. Thanks to a program from the news I get via email from and about Ukraine, I can tell that the attacks are ramping up. How the people of Ukraine live with this on a day-to-day basis, I have no idea. The air alerts for Kyiv, all the way into the country, increase and increase. That’s just *one* city.

Next, let’s take a look at the Los Angeles protests. He sent in the California National Guard and, a few days later, the Marines. He did this deliberately to try and force the protests into riots, so he could call martial law into effect. That was a big FAIL, just as his “perade” was. And this was over the heads of the California governor and mayor! They were handling the protests just fine on their own, thank you very much. I am so, so glad that the people of LA apparently knew what he was doing and were very careful about their protests, so he *couldn’t* call martial law. Now, how about a quote or two from The New Republic:

Dissent against Donald Trump is bubbling within his administrationbut people are too scared to act on it. Some White House staffers no longer believe that Trump is fit to be president, according to Miles Taylor, who served as Department of Homeland Security chief of staff during Trump’s first term. They believe that the president is “still the same man, but worse and emboldened,” Taylor said on the Court of History podcast.

“The people around [Trump] aren’t trying to talk him out of doing bad things—if anything, they are demonstrating fealty at every turn to the leader, and that’s resulting in a lot of bad decisions getting made,” Taylor said. The president’s second-term quest to nix Washington’s so-called “deep state” and replace it with an army of MAGA yes-men has so far been successful, and the result is a Trumpian loyalty more akin to a religion than a political ideology. It all became particularly evident in April, when Trump wheeled out his “Liberation Day” tariff plan using figures that nobody in his vicinity had dared to notify him were founded on bad math.

Y’know, the smarter half of the country knew something like this was coming. We all know that he hated being restrained by the (smart) people in his first cabinet. He sure as h*ll wasn’t going to have that happen in his second cabinet. And look at where it has gotten us!

He is threatening Iran with this, that, and the other. We have to at least pretend to try and do something, because Israel is our ally, and how I wish it wasn’t. We don’t need to get into another war! Iran isn’t listening to Agent Orange anymore. They’re being attacked, so they’re not going to sit around and wait for some ceasefire that isn’t happening.

And why hasn’t the news noticed that Israel is now in TWO “wars”? We have Gaza *and* Iran. Why haven’t they noticed that Israel *started* both of them? Iran had not done anything to cause Israel to attack it. I won’t get into Gaza. That’s a horrible mess. Thank you, war crimes, Bibi. It’s so complicated that it would take days or even weeks to analyze. Let’s have one last quote from The New Republic.

“Now, most of the folks I know are on, of course, the national security side of the [White] House, and some of them still think that they can keep their hand on the wheel. And I would prefer some of those people in the posts I’m thinking about than others who might replace them,” Taylor noted. “But I think people of conscience in this administration know that they are an endangered species.”

Endangered species, indeed. Is it even possible for whoever this is to subtly redirect our sorry excuse for a President? The chances are getting slimmer every day. I never thought I’d say I was glad for his first term and the staff he had then. They more or less kept him under control. Now his sycophants think more about themselves than the country.

Think of Kristi Gnome going to El Salvador to do a “this is what could happen to you” video with a background of inmates crammed into a cell, and her appearance (remember the $50,000 watch when she did it? as an example). I’m *still* outraged about that, but it is a good example of thinking about themselves. That was incredibly disgusting.

We have a lot to overthrow. We have a lot to worry about. What the h*ll is going to happen to our country? Can We, the People, get things back on track? Only time will tell. Let’s hope we can.

Thanks for sticking with me!

We thank all of you who have donated. You’re keeping this blog on the internet, believe me. One of the battles we fight is the inconsistency of ad revenue because politics in this country is so polarized, and a lot of advertisers just seek to avoid the political. They’d rather advertise on food blogs and be safe, doughnuts before democracy. All we’re trying to do is stay in business because we believe the work is important. Thank you if you can assist. If we didn’t need it, we wouldn’t be asking. Ursula

  1. We won’t get our democracy back WITHOUT A FIGHT! FACT! We didn’t want to accept it in 1941 that we would have to phucking kill people to stop the nazis and Japanese. We still don’t, as we see citizens denied the legal protections guaranteed by LAW. The criminals now are the law. Tell me how we stop this without bloodshed. Where’s all the ‘experts’? You know…the ones that have never been threatened or been the victims of armed violence. Talk is not only cheap…it’s ineffective.

  2. Good lord in heaven what a terrible piece. Next time you think about trying to write something just take a walk instead. When you try to write you prove three things.
You can’t write. That is evident.
You have no clue. “Trying to force the protests into riots? “Governor & mayor were handling riots just fine”? No they weren’t handling anything! Rioters assaulting LE, looting, etc is why troops were needed to be called in.
    You are anti America !
“Israel is an ally, I wish they weren’t ”
“Israel is in 2 wars and started them both”
What the fuck are you talking about??
You are an America hating far left zealot with no clue and you definitely do not reside in “the smarter half of the country.”

    • Um, you do realize that blind support of Israel is NOT “anti-America,” right, you bloody tool?

If you love Israel so much, move there. Join the IDF and fight for Israel.

During both “Gulf Wars,” Saddam Hussein began firing missiles at Israel and our government begged the Israelis to not respond because America had smart people who knew Israeli retaliation would lead to the Arab World (and Iran) getting behind Saddam.

Since then, Israel has CONSISTENTLY been trying to provoke the US to attack–militarily–Iran over LIES, LIES, LIES about the Iranian nuclear program (even as Israel has had the US protect it in the UN to avoid having their own nuclear program be subject to the same intense scrutiny demanded of Iran).

And, I’ll remind you that blind loyalty to Israel does NOT allow you to condone the levels of war crimes and attempted genocide that Netanyahu has been engaging in Gaza. Netanyahu redirected his own forces to the West Bank to “protect” the (illegal) settlements which allowed HAMAS to launch their own attack from Gaza. And Netanyahu’s actions in general have been so that he can avoid the many corruption charges that were leveled against him (including his own efforts to strip Israel’s courts from having any power over him–can you say, “wannabe dictator?”) from being pursued.

By the way, a lot of your MAGA buddies aren’t all that thrilled with Israel either.
