Someone is said to have changed their plans in the new administration. This person is going for lower-hanging fruit (to paraphrase, there). Someone, it seems, thinks that they are too good to do something that really isn’t what this person thought it would be. One of the two people is seriously gung ho. The other is not. DOGe is having problems.
Vivek doesn’t seem to like a role that is only advisory. He wants more power than he’s been granted, power in government. He’s looking at a run for Ohio Governor, as the person in place is about to … damn can’t remember the right word, but the current governor has already been in place as long as he can go. It’s something called maybe term limits? Apparently, my brain has frozen due to it being 22 down here UGH.
Anyhow, Vivek seems to be pushing ahead of time that he wants to be the next governor, plus he’s saying it long and loud. With all I read, there is at least one article a day on this. I’m getting tired of it. There are only so many ways you could say “Vivek is a dick”, after all. And he is, because arrogant, misogynistic, derogatory, and pushing on that H-1B issue which has been flaming up the “air” waves just about every day, as well. The little I’ve seen of him made (and makes) me want to vomit. The man has no redeeming qualities to me. Sure, self-made millionaire, which is more impressive, but no, nada, NOPE for anything else.
He could also be envious of Elon for his closeness to the now-President. DUDE, you probably have done the same thing and been right close to the President, too. But apparently, he didn’t think of that. Coulda shoulda woulda. It’s too late now unless you come up with something really amazing from the get-go and win the Mango Mandarin’s attention. Remember how short his attention span really is, which is about a minute or less. Good luck with *that*.
Whoop! Just ran across something interesting! To quote: People close to Musk have privately undercut Ramaswamy for weeks, frustrated with his lack of participation in the heavy lifting, according to sources familiar with the internal dynamics. There has been friction between the incoming rank-and-file DOGE staff and Ramaswamy, the sources said, and Ramaswamy has been subtly encouraged to exit. That’s what happens when you’re a dick. People don’t regard you as a sure bet, because they never know when you might turn on them. Too bad so sad that’s how it goes! The Ohio Governor declined to choose him for the empty Senate seat. Sometimes the snark and disappointment are all that is to show for your efforts. But you weren’t working too hard anyhow.
I hope you’re disappointed in 2 years. I hope someone, preferably a member of the Democratic Party, kicks you up, down, and center. You don’t belong in politics. Just go back to your businesses and we’ll pretend this never happened, ok? Annnnnnd just found out he is leaving DOGe. If only I had been a little faster…
******And now, a very special message from our awesome boss:******
Friends, I am forced to self-promote and ask you for money. We had a bad year compared with 2023 and the end of the year has been catastrophic. Traffic died on November 5. We are a small blog and completely self-supporting by ad revenue, donations, and subscriptions. If you can afford a monthly subscription that would help us out. If you can make a small donation, likewise. Our only goal is to stay in business and give you the best content we can generate. You are the wind beneath our wings. Thank you. One can only hope that Swamarami loses the election for Governor of that hapless state and fades into oblivion. I, along with you, don’t like him very much. At all.
Given how only TWO Democrats have been elected to the Governorship of Ohio in the past 50 years (there was a Democrat in office 50 years ago but he lost re-election in 1974) and only one of those two managed to serve 2 four-year terms, there’s not really a whole lot of hope that Ramaswamy would lose the general election if he gets that far.
Current Governor DeWine did barely win his first gubernatorial race in 2018 (winning just 50.4% of the vote) but he really won convincingly in 2022 (winning with 62.4%). (FWIW, his 2022 win saw him outperform by nearly 350,000 votes despite having nearly 300,000 fewer overall votes cast compared to 2018.) And his predecessor, John Kasich, had another narrow win in his first election in 2010 (winning just 49% of the vote–a mere 77,000 votes ahead of the incumbent Democratic challenger) but had a resounding victory in 2014 (winning 64% of the vote–winning by more than 900,000 votes).
The last Democrat to win the office, Ted Strickland, on the other hand, won his 2006 race with a solid 60.5% but shed 620,000 votes between 2006 and 2010 (despite there being 150,000 fewer votes cast in 2010).
Nope. Ramaswamy cannot win the primary; if he does, unless he does something to REALLY piss off the general electorate–including the GOP voters who didn’t vote in the primary–he’ll get into the governor’s office. (Then, like Trump, he’ll declare he won an “overwhelming mandate” even after just winning by a margin of 47.19% to 47.18%.)
