It’s been said before, what could Richard Nixon have achieved if he had Fox News? Nixon was a lot smarter than Donald Trump, not that that says much, because Trump is a moron. But if somebody with brains, Nixon being a perfect example, Joseph McCarthy another, had had the advantage of a cable network broadcasting unreality 24/7, think about how different the conversation we’re having now could be.
Point being, the demise of American life as we know it may well hinge on how many people choose to hide their heads in the sand versus how many decide to figure out the truth for themselves.

I seriously await the day when Fox News puts together a picnic in the park kind of a video, a stroll from Trump’s “mild mannered” speech down to the Capitol. There is no cure, that I know of, for willful stupidity.
And wrap your head around this: Ron DeSantis is a lot smarter than Trump and the way things look, one of them will be on the 2024 ticket. We are not out of the woods at all. The turning of the GOP into a dangerous cult is taking place with or without Trump. Watch how a less stupid inheritor to the orange throne handles things.
Take a good look at that picture and think back to four years earlier. What’s the difference? The open sections (few people) on the National Mall are up close to the Capitol while the ones back towards the instigating rally are full. And instead of being cheering in joy over having “owned the libs” they are instead worked up into an angry, seditionist frenzy.
