Well, nothing like an admission, except an admission made on the public airwaves and preserved forever on audio tape. It’s well known that Fox News was and is the mouthpiece for the Republican party, but not until a short while ago did Donald Trump actually come out and claim that he once ran the place.
I wonder if Roger Ailes is turning over in his grave. Probably. Trump probably thinks that he employed Ailes and did his thinking for him.
I can’t wait to see if Rupert Murdoch or one of the Murdochs has a riposte to this. I would tend to think that they’re going to keep their heads down and hope that as few people as possible hear about it.

And along the same lines, Trump drags Bill Barr into the picture. Ostensibly, Barr knew all about the election fraud but he was too afraid of being impeached to do what Trump wanted him to do, which was stand up for the Big Lie. Maybe Barr just saw that the party was over and decided to call it a day.

This is where we are three weeks before the 2020 midterm election. Trump has three more rallies to go to, to preach The Word of the stolen election. And then what happens? I guess the 2022 election will be stolen as well. You know damn well that any races that don’t go into Republican hands will be claimed as stolen, especially some of the more high profile races.
God help us if Kari Lake loses but God help us even more if she wins. Lake is already saying that she plans to contest election results in Arizona and if she somehow does squeak out a victory, look for her to set up a situation where she never has to leave office.

As has so often been the case Trump has things ass backwards. Fox ran HIM, mostly via Hannity although Ingraham and Carlson did their share of lifting but it was Hannity with those almost daily chats that put into Trump’s head what he should say and do. Trump spouted crap that came from Fox. It made me think of a moment from the movie Broadcast News:

There comes a point when it’s time to have interventions or whatever will slap some sense into the people who think this putz should have influence in any public sphere: including actually slapping these magat morons upside their heads.
He’s been rewarded all of his life for being the shiftless nazi loving dipshit he is. It’s rare to find someone with NO REDEEMING QUALITIES, but he has none. He is the poster boy for all his allies in the corporate world who only care about money & don’t give a rat’s ass about the rest of us. Fact.
