The Lincoln Project has known this for quite some time and so they go out of their way to tailor their ads to their Audience Of One, much as Fox News used to tailor their feature stories to appease the Mango Madman. Now Fox News is desperately trying to figure out a way to turn the page on Trump and certainly Ron DeSantis was a massive disappointment, rather than DeFuture, as he was depicted in headlines in the New York Post. Yes, friends, you see it before you. First of all, we’re way too polarized right now for a landslide of that level to happen. I hate to say it, but I think those days are over. Secondly, during the Republican primaries a solid number of voters, over 40% in many cases, wanted a different candidate. That is not the track record that people having incredible reelections usually have. At least, that has not been the case yet. And I don’t think Trump will break the mold.
But these two videos are useful. They show you the reality that normal, sane people see and the view from the adamantine bubble world that the hard core MAGAs live in.

Bo might want to remember that Reagan’s assassination attempt was a little more than 2 MONTHS after he took the Oath of Office the first time. Or, put another way: A full 3 YEARS and 7 MONTHS before the 1984 election.
On the other hand, Bo might want to recall that Gerald Ford survived TWO assassination attempts (within a single month, mind you–and both within literal touching distance of President Ford) and they did virtually nothing to improve his election results (i.e., he lost). Even among REPUBLICAN VOTERS, the polls showed they preferred any number of other GOPers to be the GOP candidate for 1976 (a month after the second attempt, Ford got 1% of those polled while Barry Goldwater was pulling in 48% and Ford VP Nelson Rockefeller was pulling in 25%).
Republican teenagers usually flunk American history which is why they think that slavery was good for slaves,as it provided ojt and women were happier unable to vote or get jobs that paid more than minimum wage.
