What else would you expect considering the source? George Santos pled not guilty, understandably, to seven counts of wire fraud, three counts of money laundering, one count of theft of public funds and two counts of making materially false statements to the U.S. House of Representatives. That is some list for any politician, let alone a freshman congressman.
But of course, Santos is blameless and the same riggers and witches that bedevil poor Donald Trump are on Team Santos as well. At least, that is his theory.
The man is a complete mess and it’s not surprising in the least that he’s getting publicly booed.

The man has already displayed that he’s a liar and a fraud and now he’s a thief as well.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, who has largely stood by Santos, did not call for his’ resignation following the indictment. “He will go through his time in trial and let’s find out how the outcome is,” the California Republican said.
- McCarthy indicated Tuesday, before the indictment was unsealed, that Santos should be able to vote in Congress while awaiting a trial.
- “If a person is indicted, they’re not on committees, they have the right to vote, but they have to go to trial.”
- He has previously said Santos would be removed from Congress if an investigation found he broke the law.
What’s next:Â Santos’ next court appearance is scheduled for June 30 before U.S. District Judge Joanna Seybert, per Hass.
The sooner Santos is in the rear view mirror the better off everybody will be.
He will be in someone else’s rear view mirror in prison. Let’s hope Donnie joins him.
Santos could do some serious time for wire fraud. The guy is unbelievable. He seems to not understand that breaking the law is a really bad idea. He acts like it’s a social faux pas or something, not all that big of a deal.
That’s because he’s been breaking the law for many years with no consequences.
