They are takers. The very people conservative dogma tells them are bad, or even evil people. Of course, having lived significant chunks of my life in small town/rural places I can assure you PLENTY (and I’m talking a LOT) of these people who decry “takers”, those getting government assistance be it unemployment, SNAP/food stamps, Medicaid etc. grab them up like kids in a candy story whenever they can. As is so often noted, they just don’t won’t “those” people, the “others” to have them.

This anti-learning & anti-science stuff is just more of their Taker mentality. They want, use and even abuse science and technology, all the stuff those “fancy-pants intellectuals” have provided for them from their medical treatments, their pickup trucks, their GUNS, the network of roads and utilities that allow food (or other goods) to be trucked to the store for them to buy, electronics like their cell phones and computers – the list goes on and on. They will use all of these things while decrying or making fun of (or both) the intellectual effort that went into creating them. Take all, or even half of it away and they’d scream like scalded pigs.

I say challenge them to do without it all. No electricity. (Make their own candles) No TV/internet. No phones. No more going to the store to buy food – grown their own. Let them build shelters out of what they can glean from nature. Same with clothing. Let them treat whatever medical problems they have with what’s available around them. No more antibiotics. Or doctors to do surgeries – they can set their own broken bones and sew up their own wounds and figure out on their own what natural remedies can do more good than harm. No more modern weapons either. Let them stick to whatever was available when the second amendment was written – and make their own fucking gunpowder! I could go on and on but you get the point. Which is that these assholes LOVE technology and even if they refuse to openly admit it are thankful for those who studied, and worked to create all the modern conveniences they depend on. And they by grab want them to continue because for all their talk, their god/Jeebus doesn’t just “miracle” all that shit into existence for them!

Evolution is about living long enough to reproduce successfully. Bullies…don’t do as well.

How is what DeSatan is doing any different than what the southern states were doing leading up to the Civil War? Building a separate militia (in this case with the criminal and mentally deranged allowed guns under his new law), ignoring Federal laws/regulations, undermining ‘normal’ in favor of whiny-butt, grievance-based resentments, denying voting rights and corrupting the vote counting processes, etc. The southern states have been a tick on our ass for over 200 years, sucking our blood/money, and undermining us at every turn. Their war-mongering and white supremist BS has spread through the land. These 4kers needed to be crushed much more than they were at the end of the Civil War. Germany did a good job of stamping out the Nazi effort. You don’t see their ilk terrorizing their country, stealing power, subverting their democracy. We’ve let this trash pile up and regain too much power for our own good. They are a threat to our country, our democracy, our future.

If DeSantis follows through on his plans for a state militia, one wonders if he will require volunteers to complete a survey of their political views (as he has done with faculty & students at state universities), or demand an oath of loyalty to him personally. Certainly, some good progressives should join, just to get an inside look at how he plans to use the militia. I suspect it goes beyond helping out in emergencies and natural disasters.

Probably every human who has so much as heard the term “survival of the fittest” has their own idea on that or who the “fittest” are. And, probably, all of thema re wrong. It’s not the smartest. It’s not the wealthiest. It’s not the most beautiful. It’s those wh are best adapted to changing conditions 19which, come to think of it, pretty well eliminayes the privileges, doesn’t it.)

Might it possibly help if we were able to get bigots to understand that, by makeing life hard for those they hate, they are actually training them to bt he fittest who will survive? Not that convincing them would be easy, of course.

I am at the point where I wish those,who want to commit Suicide by Virus(or polio or measles,etc.) would just become more effective at dying and get it over with–with a caveat :You can commit suicide,but cannot take anyone with you;if you do, your family who enabled you can be tried for accessory to murder and be sued by those you infected and their families.
