This is not a joke, and this is not an article from a satire. The guy known as “MAGA’s Man in Latin America” is behind bars, and it’s a damn good thing. He tried to have something done to his pregnant ex-girlfriend that is almost unbelievable in this day and age. At first, it seemed a horrible joke, and then we find out it’s true. Even The Onion wouldn’t do an article on this. With respect for Raw Story:
A businessman dubbed “MAGA’s Man in Latin America” who once accepted an award at Mar-a-Lago is now sitting in a Bolivian jail accused of plotting to have his pregnant ex-girlfriend killed, according to a new report. Fernando Cerimedo, a business associate of Brad Parscale, the digital mastermind behind two of President Donald Trump’s presidential campaigns, was arrested at Bolivia’s Viru Viru Airport last month on conspiracy-to-murder charges, the Bulwark reported Thursday.
There it is. People still do this. People still try to have someone killed. That sounds like a sociopath. That sounds like someone with no morals who puts on a good show in public. Sociopaths are good at that, after all. Look at Trump. He plays the game in public (except for the disgusting late-night AI dumps, as well as ranting and raving). But even Trump wouldn’t go this far. He doesn’t want to be in prison, as we all know. But “MAGA Man” did go this far.
At a February “Hispanic Prosperity Gala” at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club, Cerimedo accepted an award for “Hispanic Political Consultant of the Year” and singled out his benefactor: “Thank you to Brad Parscale! For believing [in] me all the time and giving me your technology.”
Consultant of the Year. And then this happens. It could generate backlash against Parscale and Trump by association. Then it gets ugly. This is not an arrest in America. No, it’s in another country entirely. That’s not a place Trump could manipulate. That would mean sending Marco Rubio to smooth things over. The Secretary of State would be needed, not just a “regular” diplomat, because this would be a big thing.
But right now, it’s just MAGA Man in Latin America. A man who was given an award at Mar-A-Slobo that said nothing about what’s underneath. How many people he used to work with are distancing themselves now, like Republicans are doing with Trump? They’re backing away so fast you can only see the puff of dust from where they got going.
It’s like something out of a horror novel, or Criminal Minds. Or, for that matter, any show that deals with crimes. It’s all under that “He was so nice” appearance. And people are embarrassed when they realize how badly they’ve misread someone. So, this is still around, even if it was in another country, because he got a prestigious award and then tried to have someone bumped off. He’s also under investigation for drug trafficking. What a guy.
Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that, of all the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love.
