Kudos to my friend and colleague, Dino Durrati, who found this story. It brought my blood pressure down about ten points. Donald Trump posted on social media he was shot by a bullet. That story never made any kind of sense to me. He had some blood on his ear and scratches on his face. How do bullets do this? Was it one bullet or several bullets, all just conveniently grazing him? The reality of the situation, if you hit the link, is that law enforcement told two media sources that Trump was hit by “shards of glass” from a teleprompter. That makes a hell of a lot more sense than flying bullets.
Now here’s where it gets strange and I can only share with you what I can find. The two news outlets cited were Newsmax and Axios. “Both Newsmax’s Alex Salvi and Axios’ Juliegrace Brufk report” that Trump was “hit by glass shards that may have erupted from the shattering of a teleprompter that was hit by gunfire.” Axios is clearly the more credible news outlet but that reporter has deleted her post. Which leaves us with Newsmax. As you can see, the same reporter initially reported that law enforcement spoke of broken glass, then he reported Trump said he “was hit by a bullet.” Does Trump “know” he was hit by a bullet? What do the doctors say?

I personally would breathe a lot easier knowing one way or another what Trump was hit with — not that it detracts from the basic reality of the situation, which is that bullets were fired. That is the reality here, from what can be ascertained. A shooter was on a nearby roof, with an AR-15 and shot a number of rounds, although reports on how many differ.
The shooter was a 20-year-old white male and a registered Republican who voted in 2022. His name was Thomas Mathew Crooks and he was not Antifa or Black or LGBTQ or even a Democrat. So it will be interesting to hear suppositions and explanations about the young man’s motive.
There was also footage on Twitter yesterday of somebody being dragged from the stands by police but I can’t find the follow up on that. If the shooter was on a nearby rooftop, why were the cops grabbing anybody from the stands? Again, Twitter goes nuts when something like this happens. So the footage could have even been from another rally.
The main issue though, which bothers and perplexes me, is if law enforcement mentioned that Trump was struck by glass shards, why is the report today that Trump was struck “by a bullet” — unless that’s what he wants reported. And if that’s not accurate, then it’s pure propaganda to let that become the report out into the world.
I’m definitely following up on this. I see this as crucial. Being hit by flying glass is one thing, being hit by a bullet is something totally different. Letting Trump be the one to decide which fact is reported widely is propaganda, not news. My question is why have the major media outlets not reported whatever the attending physician has stated about what struck Trump? I’m sure a doctor can tell the difference between flying glass and a bullet wound. This is crucial information.

NOPE. So it was glass, just as the cops stated. But it’s not news worthy to say he was hit by glass. No, it must be that orange jeebus was assassinated. Or crucified. But came back from the dead or rose again or somehow healed himself. He appeared to be doing a hitler salute as secret service led him off the stage, not a fist pump. He did fist pumps until they surrounded him and led him off stage. Then it sure did look like hitler salute. And the pictures on twit are all showing how he went from being behind in the polls to winning the White House. The “patriots” are posting pictures of him with a flag and bleeding and they will fundraise off them. What a bunch of bull. All for the almighty dollar.
And the doctors will say he had multiple gunshot wounds that he miraculously survived. Even though they were minor scratches.
I would seriously like to see what “diagnosis” a doctor wrote, although I’m willing to bet that we never will.
Last night my son was looking for a good picture of Trump’s ear but couldn’t find one. Today I found one. I’d love to hear a forensic physician weigh in on this. I see extraordinarily little blood, and even the scratches (or streaks) on his face are very light, they don’t even look like cuts to me.
I suspected the story of glass from right side teleprompter which was inline w shooter. But I saw this on NYT showing the teleprompter intact after. We definitely need to keep questioning this though
Also this distance is shorter than the basic sharpshooter requirement in US Army. That’s the minimum award. Everyone must get at least this to pass. With M16 in my day. Kid doesn’t even have his glasses on straight. No wonder he missed.

Back when I was at school in the school cadet force, I was firing a .303 Lee Enfield that was almost as big as myself for the first time – and I was able to put 5 rounds well inside a 6 foot target at 200 yards. That was the FIRST time I ever fired a rifle – the only ‘practice’ before hand was how to lie down and load.
Sop how come someone could shoot at a lower range and completely miss?
This beats all. I saw the footage. There were pumping sounds and Trump said, “Oh” and touched his ear. But he didn’t scream like anybody would if actually shot. I believe that flying glass grazed him. That’s a theory that fits the facts. And if a “bullet” hit him, great. Do they HAVE the bullet? That’s part of law enforcement’s job, finding a projectile and bagging it as evidence.
If they keep up the story that tfg was hit by a bullet then it will only come back to bite them in the ass … and it won’t take long.
I think that’s now the official story. I keep looking for elaboration in the media and all I see is the same old, same old, Trump is saying on Truth Social he was hit “by a bullet” and that makes it gospel.
The report about him being hit by glass not bullets has been mentioned in some articles, but the problem is that it was linked to the idea that the whole thing was staged. They didn’t mention the autoritative source: the Pennsylvania State Police.
There is no proof the teleprompter, the alleged source of the glass or plastic that hit him, were damaged by gunfire. People are dismissing the glass argument claiming the teleprompters remained intact. There should be some photo somewhere of the teleprompter to make this point. Without a source of the glass, the bullet story will stick.

There is too much shit that just doesn’t make sense to hold up the “assassination attempt” scenario. The big one was his s.s. detail–why weren’t they on stage with their charge-typically their are two or three. Why were they down in the audience where they could not see any possible “dangers” further out? Yes, you would have some s.s. mingling with the crowd listening to chatter, looking for an immediate threat closer to their charge, but there is better defense when you’re above the crowd (and right there with your charge)-that is just simple logic (this is also standard training for people who guard others, public figures, from threats and my source (k. thiebert) said this is true for the s.s. as well).
The para “military” wannabes? Someone tried to tell me they were an agency of the state’s police force but try as I might, I cannot find any insignia anywhere on them. I don’t know how they do it in PA, but up here if your with the military, Nat’l Guard, or some agency from law enforcement, I don’t care what kind of garb you wear as a uniform, there is SOMETHING indicating you are not just a citizen wandering around with a weapon (and anyone wearing it who is NOT part of said organizations are breaking the law) . Of course up here we get away with “shoot first, ask questions later” by law so insignia is kind of vital to protect the poor fucks from law enforcement.

The final nail in the coffin of “assassination attempt” script they’re trying to foist on the public again involves the s.s. detail-rather than get him off the stage and out of harm’s way after picking him up, they ring around him and STAND THERE? Are you fucking kidding me? The ONLY reason to do that is to allow a photo op of his little fist waving around. SOP is you remove the charge you are protecting ASAP. Had this not been all staged, the s.s. detail would have made him walk bent over, or carried him, to his vehicle and gotten him the hell out of there. This event looks so obviously staged it is pathetic and most of the tells pointing to that conclusion come from his s.s. detail. They are either going along with the act, for which they need to be immediately removed, fired, and arrested OR there are s.s. details who are extraordinarily bad at protecting their charges. If for some reason it is the latter, we had better hope and pray our President doesn’t have buffoons like this in his s.s. detail (s). Just thinking that is even possible almost makes me piss myself. trump having an incompetent s.s. detail doesn’t make yesterday’s theatrics any more real tho’–just easier to accomplish.
I don’t know what the fall-out from this will be. I can only hope people with even a modicum of sense see this as the staged event it was and find yet ANOTHER reason to vote against trump/pubes/magats/con xtians/etc. because they are liars trying to pull a fast one for a sympathy vote. The photo op aspects of it is what’s weird. As I understand it, and I’m the first to admit I have limited knowledge of this subject, the Secret Service’s ONLY job, in a scenario like this, is to get the subject to a place of safety. Not to ring around and let the subject do a fist pump for the cameras.
The real questions for me are:
1) how did he get in the building and why wasn’t anybody allowed in without going through a metal detector.
2) how do you walk into that building with a gun/rifle without someone noticing
3) why wasn’t Secret Service on every rooftop just to clear it.
I had to deal.with S.S. back in 1972 when my lobbying office hosted the VP Gerald Ford. The next office to.us had their only door open into the space where and I and an agent were supposed to check off names. They got the names,of everyone in the other offices and did background checks and all were cleared. And they had two.people on the entrance. One man stood there and did a,Clint Eastwood impression in front of the elevator, while another dude in a French coat and fedora was talking g to something like his wristwatch a la Dick Tracy. They were not subtle. Nobody got in or out of the building for an hour.while Ford was there.

A closer look at the photo shows three distinct start points for blood: one at the tip of his ear, one on his cheek and one on his upper lip. There is also a blood smear on his neck. There is NO way those were bullet wounds

I think the whole thing was staged. The “Secret Service” tackled him to apply fake blood. There even may have been a second shooter but I think it was a set up. The orange felon would not be above sacrificing some of his faithful for a photo op.

It was an assassination attempt — by a 20 year old registered Republican gun-lover who was obviously a lousy shot. Reports said there were eight shots; he killed one person in the audience and wounded two more. Explosive devices were found in his car. This character did not succeed in killing Trump, but he actually gave ours side a lot of “ammunition”. And if Trump now nominates J.D. Vance, who has blamed the whole thing on Biden (of course), we have even more “ammunition.”
I freaked out when I first heard about the assassination attempt, but as the facts and the MAGA responses emerge, I begin to see it as nothing more than a vicious farce that reflects back on the insanity of MAGA, and their (among other things) promotion of violent rhetoric and guns. Yes, the MAGA contingent are now foming at the mouth, but everything they say is bullshit. Trump degenerates from day to day. Hardcore MAGA (although they benefit from the help of the media) comprise about 15% of voters, and of the rest, more and more people can see the difference and vote for Biden.

This is a total mind fuck. There are SO MANY questions and nobody seems to be answering them. Everybody is going along with Trump’s assertion that he was “hit by a bullet.” If Trump “head flesh tear” or whatever he’s saying, his ear would be gone.
This is flat out weird.
Why is everyone saying it was a lousy shot? All things considered, that wasn’t a bad shot at 130+ metres by an amateur (irrespective of whether or not it was shards or a bullet graze). For comparison, Lee Harvey Oswald – setting aside the controversy of whether or not he fired the fatal shot – was 55-82 metres away from Kennedy. Olympic rifle distances are 10 and 50m. In other words, grazing the ear would be a bullseye at 130+ metres.
I disagree and quite strongly. I started hunting when I was seven. I was a good shot from the get go (we did some rifle shooting in Scouts back then) and living in a small town would sometimes shoot with friends who lived on farms. Squirrel hunting was sometimes done with a .22 rifle and any of us could make a head shot at 50 yards – providing the freaking squirrel would sit still. But unless they were working on a nut they’d hop around like they were amped up on speed so I preferred a a shotgun. I didn’t go into the Marines until 26, which is when I learned I was quite a shot. You are talking piddly ass distances. At two hundred meters (we shot courses in meters instead of mere yards at Camp Pendleton) I almost always drilled bull’s eyes in the sitting and prone position. Even in “offhand” (standing) while I’d miss the “black” often I was always close. The last ten shots during qualification were from five hundred meters. The bull’s eye/black was an outline of what was supposed to be a kneeling man. If memory serves it was 30″ high from bottom to top of the head and from the shoulders down 21″ wide. If someone couldn’t place half or more of their shots in the black any misses of the bull’s eye from 200 and 300 meters (and everyone has some) qualifying was at risk. Now and then someone would “go unc” (unqualified) both most could do it. I’d put ten rounds in the black at 500 meters. With iron sights. No scope. FYI, back before we switched to the M-16A-2, the maximum effective range of our M-16s was 460 meters. That meant if you qualified on a metric range you had to put a half dozen or so shots into the black from 40 meters BEYOND what the weapon was rated for!
Now, granted not everyone can shoot the way the Corps teaches people. And some Marines don’t last because they can’t get the hang of it. Oswald in fact was know for regularly getting “Maggie’s Drawers.” After each shot the team pulling your target in the pit signal with a flag (by my time it was a disk) to show your score for the shot. A bull’s eye got a green flag/disk and if it was centered on the target that meant you were in or close to the “x-ring.” If you were towards the edge but still in the black, say towards the upper right the green flag/disk would be there. If outside the black causing a lower score again, the position of the flag/disk would show where the shot hit. If you missed the target or at least scoring area (not even getting a 1) entirely that awful red disk would appear, Since it was orginally a flag, the crude nickanme was Maggie’s Drawers as in some floozy’s red panties. Oswald at best could barely (sometimes) qualify as a marksman, the lowest rating.
Now, let’s talk regular people who hunt and shoot rifles. Deer hunters and other big game. While even I might find myself with a shot of several hundred yards or more given places where i deer hunted most often I seldom had a shot over 150 yards. Even a little over ten years ago, the last time I hunted I was still quite capable of confidently putting a shot, a series of them in fact into an area LESS than four inches square. With a scope, most good hunters are capable of the same. Even lesser skilled shots can with some practice put three or more shots into a six inch bull’s eye, or in actual hunting within the area on a deer you most want to hit to make a quick, clean kill that doesn’t ruin edible meat. I was lazy as I got older and used a scope but if I’d wanted to put in the practice I could have done it with iron sights with my old Marlin 30-30. An AR-15 is NOT a good deer rifle for two reasons. Velocity is so much greater it does two things – creates a wide track of tissue/meat ruining cavitation and also the slightest impact with bone makes the bullet ricochet around damaging more meats and maybe getting towards the back and rupturing the deer’s bladder which ruins more meat. But dialing it in to hit an area three to four inches square is something a shitload of hunters and certainly many who’ve been in the military can do.
So no, a head shot in good conditions (this was mild weather with good visibility and little/no wind) and from a prone position wouldn’t be difficult at all for millions of people in this country. At that range plenty of people (including me if I got back into shooting) would in those condtions if not put it right between the eyes, then damn close. Maybe through an eyeball, or the bottom of the nose/above the top lip or a couple of inches above the eyebrows but the result would be the same. A corpse and a freaking bloody, brain splattered mess. While the shooter was squeezing the trigger Trump’s head moved at most very slightly. Don’t buy into the bullshit from his fans or pundits wanting to hype their new shiny TRUMP WAS ALMOST “ASSASSNATED
toy. It was either a bad shot, or an extremely skilled one meant to at most take of a chunk of ear and make Trump out to be some kind of hero.
I will also say on that last point even if his pal Erik Prince proved to him he had shooters that good (and Prince does have people who could intentionallly hit an ear at that distance or longer) Trump simply doesn’t have the kind of courage to risk something going wrong. He’d never agree to it.
It gets even crazier Denis. This purports to show the bullet ‘in flight’ as it ‘whizzed past his head’. Now I don’t know about you, but when I was a cadet at school I had to do ‘marker’ in the butts and I heard a lot of bullets fly overhead (perfectly safe – we were behind a VERY large berm) but bullets didn’t, as Trump claims ‘whizz past’ – they were supersonic and there was a very audible ‘crack’ as they passed. I also can’t recall ever seeing a bullet leave a con trail.
It’s been more decades than I care to admit but thinking about times taking my turns in the butts at the rifle range I remember the same thing. Never once worried about safety down there due to that berm. I also remember taking turns intently watching the target for when bullets would hit it. After a while so many of those small dots or squares we’d stick onto a target to cover bullet strikes would lose their adhesiveness and fall off. You had to pay close attention because when that happened you’d have multiple bullet holes showing and you had to make sure you knew which was the one(s) that just struck the target and the old ones. The sound was a “crack” instead of a whizzing sound. It was a bear of a task during rapid fire sequences because unless you had a fresh target that was in its first day or two of use all those quick strikes in succession meant it could be pretty hard to make sure you were getting it right. In the Corps during qualification there would be ten round rapid fire sequences from boht 200 and three hundred yards/meters. One minute to fire the ten rounds, with two magazines of five rounds each. We were taught to, during the reload to sketch out the strikes of the first five shots. Range days for us meant a turn on the firing line shooting and a turn in the butts pulling and marking targets. Regardless of which position, including and especially in the butts during a rapid fire sequence when looking at a small slice of “sky” regardless of the weather conditions (clear blue sky with no humidity, humid and/or cloudy sky or even a light rain/drizzle I never saw a bullet contrail. Whether from a fairly close 200 where it was travelling fairly close to muzzle velocity or after 500 when it had slowed down considerably (but still supersonic) I never saw a contrail. That’s why you had to pay so close attention when pulling/marking targets. Even with a small area to focus on those suckers are simply moving too fast for the human eye to see. Or most cameras. It takes special high-speed cameras to catch an image of a bullet in flight. No event like this would just so happen to have such a high speed camera set up. Whatever the hell is supposedly showing in that picture is either an artifact on the lens or the printer that created the image.

Ok, I feel weird doing so but I’m compelled to say damned near anyone would duck down if they thought someone had taken a shot at them. In fact, Trump or any protectee is told by the Secret Service (or private security if they have it) do to exactly that if a serious threat happens. Now let’s move on to after he ducked down. Five or six Secret Service folks, NOT small people I might add dove on top of him like he was fumbling a football and they wanted to get hold of it. LIke me, he probably can’t get up off the ground without help. So, believe it or not I’ll give him a pass on this one.
I don’t however give his detail a pass. As SOON as they got the shooter down call and a green light to move Trump to the car and (relative) safety they should have carried his fat ass off stage with NO pause. Instead, being the kiss-ass suckups they are (which is why Trump let them move down from DC with him when he had to leave the WH) they gave in to him to let him do some posturing during which he was again exposed. TWICE. What if there’d been a second shooter somewhere? But Trump knows his Tee Vee and the value of a show of defiance since he wasn’t really hurt. If anything he took more punishment from all those agents jumping on top of him and pressing him into the stage and holding him still than the nick on the ear. Had a bullet actually passed through his ear, since all of the ear but the lob is cartilage covered by skin it would have blown off at least a quarter of his ear and hurt like a mo-fo. But he barly got grazed. He’s cut himself worse shaving but the thing about head wound is that they do bleed and usually a fair amount. Even tiny ones. It was six decades ago when I was (I “swear”) only walking a little fast down the hall and a door jumped right out and split open my forehead. (Ok, so I was defying my mom and running down the hall, slipped and my head cracked into the edge of the open door that led into the kichten) and before she got to me when I yelled so much blood was pouring down my face I couldn’t see out of either eye. Our doctor’s office was around the corner – a half block over and a half block up towards main street. I kept wiping away blood and saw my mom had run out in from of a car that screeched to a halt just in time or it would have run over us. After five, just five stiches for a wound an inch and a half long my shirt and pants were so bloody mome couldn’t wash it out. They wound up being cut into rags. So yes, even the tiniest of nicks to an ear could produce that much blood. In fact I’m surprised there wasn’t more.
I agree with you. Trump’s body didn’t even react when he was supposedly shot. The velocity that the bullet would have been travelling at would have at least knock Trumps head back or to the side and probably knocked him down or even out. Instead, he slaps his ear and knelt down behind the lectern in a controlled manner. Not as though he had been grazed by an object travelling faster than the speed of sound. A point for me is that the reaction of the crowd directly behind Trump gives no indication that something terrible has just happened to their leader. They seem confused as they look about. One person seems to be mouthing or saying, “What the F’ck?!” I’m glad others have some of the same questions as me. I am a skeptic and a critical thinker and it is important for me to have the facts so I can find the truth. I urge everyone to keep open minds and ask lots of questions!

LIving in Brasil, I have seen this befor, with the “stabbing” of Jair Bolsonaro, “Trump of the Teopics.” It was a put=up job, in which no one was hurt, but the news was different. And the pictures so faked, one can only imagine. However, the event did swing the vote to Bozo from Haddad, a last minute substitute for Lula after he was wrongfully jailed in the most fake corruption investigation in their history.
Isn’ it amazing what a hospital visit can do for bringing out the sympathy vote. We will never know for sure if this situation was real or staged, but we do know that at least four people suffered. the shooter and one rally attendee dead and a couple of others injured. At least none of that happened in Brasil, but the country is now slowly recovering from its own disastrous four years and its on January 6, that occurred on January 8, 2023. Funny how that worlks, though neitheer Teump nor Bozo wouls care a bit over who else was hurt, as long as they got their way.
