Warning To The GOP. The Democrats Have Grown A Pair. Beto Just Proved It

You know, Michelle Obama put it perfectly in her convention speech when she said, When they go low, we go high! My first, instinctive reaction was to yell, You got that right Michelle! Get that nut sac as high up the groin as your knee can take it! Looking back, I don’t think she was talking about the same thing.

But it’s always been a hobby horse for me. How many times have I written that when it comes down to political gutter fighting, The GOP vs the Democrats is like The Crips rumbling with The Chess Club. It isn’t even a fair fight, nor does the GOP intend it to be.

The democrats are hamstrung to start with. Democrats actually believe in civility, the legislative process, honest debate, an exchange of ideas and policies, and the power of the judiciary. The GOP believes in none of that, and hasn’t for years. For them, it’s all about brute power and control.

That started to change in 2020 when the Democrats took over the Senate. The first thing that Mitch McConnell tried was a power play to deny turning over the committee chairs to the Democrats until Schumer assured him that he wouldn’t touch the filibuster. Schumer responded by going on The Rachel maddow Show to publicly ridicule McConnell and literally laugh in his face. McConnell caved the next day, and has been caving ever since.

But it gets better. Knowing the simple fact that the quickest way to Traitor Tot’s wallet is through his heart, Democratic House members, led by Eric Swalwell, are suing Trump in federal court for damages for his personal involvement in unleashing a homicidal mob on the Capitol. That case has been cleared to proceed to discovery.

Even better, The Democrats, especially in the House, have started calling a spade a spade. When GOP MAGAts like Lauren Boebert and Laborious MTG start spewing out stupid shit, Democratic House members are no longer saying, I respectfully disagree with my colleague across the aisle. Instead, they’re calling exactly what it is, Destructive, authoritarian batshit crazy!

Ans Beto O’Rourke just put the cherry on top. And in doing so, he fired a warning shot across the bow of the GOP. His intention was clear, The kid gloves are off, suckers!

O’Rourke was holding what looked like a town hall, since it was being held indoors. It was very well attended by his supporters. Beto was speaking passionately about the insanity of allowing 18 year olds to purchase weapons of mass destruction, He said something like;

It’s insane. an 18 year old can’t buy a beer, but he can purchase an assault weapon! These are the weapons that the US military gives to trained soldiers to use when the go into combat to kill an enemy at 200′. What do you think that weapon does to a 10 year old body at 5 feet, or 10 feet, or 15 feet?!

And then Beto got heckled. To my ears, it sounded like someone gave out a sarcastic belly laugh, although there may have been another voice that made a sarcastic comment as well. Beto immediately whirled, pointed, and thundered, And I’m sick of you motherfuckers too! The audience went insane. They leapt to their feet, cheering, clapping, stomping, and pointing as well. I can only imagine that the miscreants fled in terror.

I can only pray that this continues. Trump’s base, and by association the GOP organizational structure is no longer a political party, they are Trump’s personal Brownshirts. And the only thing that a bully with a stick understands is somebody with a bigger stick whacking him in the snoot with it! Nothing will energize the Democratic base like seeing their candidates and incumbents standing up and fighting for our democratic principles. Our very democracy is at stake. Keep punching, and keep the faith!
