It’s open racial hatred and fear mongering. This is all the GOP has to take into the race this election cycle. It is emphatically crash and burn time. Geoff Duncan, who is the one of the few Republicans making any kind of sense, is voting for Kamala Harris and urging people to “purge” Donald Trump. This is the only way the GOP can survive. They need to get rid of Trump/MAGA and then the Republicans can redraft some kind of a conservative agenda.
Or, there may be three parties in this country, Democrats, Republicans, and MAGAs. That’s a possibility. But I see no way that the GOP can continue beyond this election cycle with Trump the anchor around their neck.
If MAGA loses badly in November, then the handwriting will be on the wall. And frankly, that is the only sane resolution possible. Unless the GOP wants to become pure MAGA and abandon conservatism totally, and simply be the party of racists.
We will know the direction of the Republican party in a few short months. Meanwhile, watching the right-wing loonies melt down is going to be satisfying.
