The hits just keep coming. The DoJ is refusing to give Comey’s lawyer the evidence for the case against Mr. Comey. First, the lawyers for the prosecution tell the judge they’re new to the case and would appreciate more time to become familiar with it. Remember, Lindsey Halligan had to go *outside* for help because all “her” people refused to sign onto it.

Now this? This is just one more example of what a farce this case is. Shouldn’t the prosecutors be giving information to the defendant? Isn’t that what they are supposed to do? This makes no sense. From Raw Story:

Ex-FBI Director James Comey was narrowly indicted by a grand jury this month, but according to his lawyer, the Justice Department is refusing to reveal its evidence against him. of withholding information involving its charges, citing that Comey and his legal team can’t be trusted with it.

Why in the hell can’t they be trusted with it? Because they’ll release the information and “possibly” taint the jury selection? Well, that’s a bunch of hooey. The defendant can’t keep the information to themselves or some bullshizzle like that? For heaven’s sake. Mr. Comey has a highly skilled lawyer. Mr Comey was the leader of the FBI. But they can’t be trusted? Good grief.

The filing states that the government has entered a protective order that blocks Comey from being entrusted with some of the materials that are being used to substantiate his indictment. “Protective orders addressing the confidentiality and privacy interests of others should not override a defendant’s right to a fair trial,” wrote Fitzgerald in the filing. As the lawyer stated, Comey’s extensive history with access to sensitive and classified information proves he’s trustworthy. “Mr. Comey, a Virginia-licensed attorney admitted to practice in the Eastern District of Virginia, is a former United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, and later Deputy Attorney General of the United States,” the court filing says. “He then became director of the FBI.

Something is missing here. That something is why. How can someone hide the evidence and hog-tie the defense’s ability to prepare? This doesn’t make any sense. If someone would like to enlighten us on the correct process, please do. That’s something we need to know. What are we missing?

Checking the DoJ’s website shows the defendant is entitled to all materials. So this is wrong. What. Are. They. Hiding? The materials might show how weak their case is. The case never should have gone up to a grand jury. What evidence was provided to *them*? Inquiring minds want to know. This is making me nuts. Well, more nuts. Ha. To close:

“In these positions and others, Mr. Comey has been entrusted with some of the most sensitive and highly guarded information in the country. To assert now that he cannot be trusted with receiving discovery in his case controverts his long career of distinguished government service at the highest levels.” Fitzgerald argued that no one knows more about the facts and the details of the case than Comey, so denying him access to the information surrounding it “places his defense at a severe and unnecessary disadvantage to insist that he be prohibited from possessing Protected Material to be able to review and refer to whenever necessary throughout preparation of his defense.”

WHAM. There it is. Should have access to the information. At a severe and unnecessary disadvantage. So … what *are* they hiding? The further one goes through the article, the more questions we have. This is getting fishy. But then, we know the leader of the DoJ is partisan (and shouldn’t be *snort*), so we *know* that’s true. For goodness’ sake, what has been done to get them to release something, even if it’s just for review by the defense, and they say it cannot be released? There is more and more hope, because the prosecution is looking worse every second. We can hope this all comes out at the trial. January? Here we come!

Friends, I know everyone asks you for money. I promise you, of all the outlets asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
