Rob Reiner made the comment a few days ago that “nobody” had read the Mueller report — and certainly not Donald Trump, who claims he’s read every single word of it. (If so, it would be the first book he ever read in his life.) Nothing makes more sense in the age of the reality-TV president than to have the Mueller report read by a cast of luminaries. Variety:

For one night only on Monday, June 24, stars will perform a live reading of passages from the Mueller report for “The Investigation: A Search for the Truth in Ten Acts,” Robert Schenkkan’s stage adaptation of the Mueller report. The live performance will be streamed online only on the website for Law Works. The stream will begin at 9 p.m. EDT. The cast of the event also includes Justin Long, Piper Perabo, Michael Shannon, and Zachary Quinto, among others. Sigourney Weaver, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Mark Hamill will also make appearances.
Law Works is an organization catering to bipartisan voices to make sure that the public is educated on the Mueller investigation among other issues in American politics. Their goal is to share resources and stories from experts to shed light on important developments based on the rule of law, making sure that neither Congress nor the American people consider themselves above the law.
Tapes will undoubtedly be available of this performance, and this is a good precedent to set. People will watch/listen to movie stars. If this is the way to get them to ingest the Mueller report, just like a kid who won’t take medicine unless it’s sugar coated, then maybe this is the way to do it. Perhaps Stephen Colbert could devote five minutes a night to different pages and sections of the report, as well. There’s a lot of ways to skin a Trump and it looks like creative people are finding creative solutions for doing so.
Good stuff. I am wading through it on my own. And having hearing issues, listening is not my thing. And I’m not sure how they’re going to link in all the footnotes involved. I’ll keep reading and rereading and discussing it.
It is filled with criminality. Trump’s sons, Kellyanne, and others were very open about the use of Facebook and bots. Like it was the most natural thing in the world.
I was also shocked way back when the sons were acting like the idiot spawn they are … mentioned various things about how Russia was providing money for their golf courses … set off those little tinker bells in my mind that sounded like one of those old radio shows where a certain closet door, when opened sounded like every pan, tin cup and metallic object from a whole hardware store fell on the floor …
It was hilarious then and would be now, if people would just take a little time to listen, and use the imagination they were born with to, “see”, the sound effect in action … now, every thing is in full color, and full of computer magic visuals making things happen that would be impossible to do with props and manual action only …
Trump has been and certainly STILL IS, the biggest loser, he says he is the best at everything, so it has to be true …
This report SHOWS how much he has done so biggly wrong, and yet, he has been left out there, seemingly, unfazed and unstoppable … his treatment of the unfortunate families at the southern border, has become the most horrible human rights tragedy in our suffering history … who is writing the checks and who is cashing them? GOTV !!
I’m 80 pages into it, having first color-coded all the censored stuff I could find. (I’m now into the part where most of those are because of grand jury secrecy.)
I have just started reading it. I am going to take my time.
(I got a dead-tree version so I *could* mark it up. Much more difficult with a e-book. WaPo’s version has a cast-of-characters list and a possibly-accurate timeline, which are useful, and includes a bunch of the legal docs also.)
There’s approximately zero information about “Law Works” available, and that’s just on their site. The “about” page has a nice statement, but nothing else: no names anywhere, no addresses – the “contact” page is a form you fill out and send them.
It’s streaming live now (it’s 6:10 p.m. on the West Coast.) Maybe what you got earlier was a different screen from this one?

Somehow, I find it difficult to believe someone generated a braille copy of this report … so complex a package of notes and references … an audio version done by pros in clear voices could be of value to those with vision problems, if they don’t also have a hearing problem ….
I think it is a good project, there is NOTHING in the report that praises the fantastic job Trump claims he has been doing … I wonder why … /s

It’s little slow to get into but when the actors start on the “lines” of those involved it gets good fast. Kevin Kline narrates, John Lithgow does Trump’s lines, Jason Alexander Chris Christie’s, Kyra Sedgwick Sarah Sanders’s, and I think Joel Grey Jeff Sessions’s (with quite the drawl). They all manage to keep straight faces (well, they are professionals) but the audience responds. So far I have seen 25 minutes of it (which took me into “Act 3”), and I will definitely watch the rest.
