I’ve already stated that I believed that J.D. Vance became the anointed one because Donald Trump is too worn out to campaign and he wanted to pass the work on to his vice presidential candidate. Marco Rubio would have used the opportunity to position himself for 2028 and Doug Burgum simply is not MAGA enough for Trump. But Vance is. Vance is a Trump mini me. And if the Democratic ticket would have stayed Biden/Harris then Vance attacking Biden’s age would have been fine. But the lineup has changed in the ballgame and Vance is simply falling on his face. A pair of surveys by Blueprint, the centrist Democratic pollster backed by Reid Hoffman, one taken July 21 – July 22, two days after Vance was announced as Donald Trump’s running mate, and then again two weeks later on August 4, showed Vance’s net favorability falling from -7 to -11 with fewer voters unsure either way. That’s similar to other public polling, which has also shown Vance making a poor first impression since joining the Republican ticket.
The main shift in how respondents viewed Vance: He’s become more and more identified with his particular brand of conservatism and less with his famed biography as an author, veteran, and politician. Presented with a list of options to describe Vance in August, the most common answers were “conservative,” “anti-woman,” and “weird,” while more positive options like “young,” “smart,” and “businessman” declined from July. Of the statements offered, participants were most aware of the “childless cat lady” comments with 50% of those surveyed saying they had heard of the remarks and 55% saying they were bothered by them. Scoring worse, but less well-known: A 2021 interview with Spectrum News in which he defended a Texas abortion law’s lack of exceptions for rape and incest by suggesting pregnancies from such circumstances are “inconvenient.” Sixty-two percent of voters said they were “bothered” Vance used the word “inconvenient” to describe pregnancies that stem from rape and incest with 50% reporting “it bothers me a lot.”
I know women who have been raped and “inconvenient” is not a word that I have heard in connection with the experience, except from the mouth of J.D. Vance. He has no concept of rape or incest. He’s a flaming moron along with Kristi Noem who believes that aborting the child of rape is “another tragedy” on top of the first tragedy.
These people don’t have real world concepts of unwanted pregnancy. And the tragic part of all this is that the GOP is all for you when you’re in the womb. You have rights when you’re in vitro. But when you get out and you need a school lunch or health insurance or affordable housing, don’t go knock on their doors. They’re the party of personal responsiblity, doncha know. The hypocrisy is staggering.
The die is cast for Vance. He was an unwise choice to begin with, because there were any number of far better qualified candidates. But Trump didn’t want experience or to broaden his appeal to voters. He wants to pitch undiluted MAGA. You see how great an idea that is. Undiulted MAGA is one of the reasons that Harris/Walz are packing arenas to the rafters. Nobody wants that particular toxin. And Trump knows it, which is why he’s already getting his 2024 election denialism claims set up.
I hope Kristi Noem was careful when she was boinking Corey Lewandoski, who she’s not married to, hate to see her suffer any “inconvenience”. Do these people not understand what obvious hypocrites they are?

After all, there are plenty of GOPers who aren’t all that happy with the notion of “in vitro” either. (But, they’ve had to go dark mode on the subject unless they want to face total political annihilation. For some reason, most Americans are in favor of “in vitro” treatments.)
They don’t CARE. They push the BS to feed the red meat to their mouth breathing base and no one else’s opinions about them matter until they figure out they need YOU, then they “moderate”. Ethical Egoists always make moral decisions based upon what benefits THEM. We have to make it benefit them to consider EVERYONE and not just THEMSELVES.

A fetus demands nothing but what mom supplies. They are easy to use as pawns. Children demand lots of things. That will continue. They will cost somebody something in time and money. That takes money out of the pockets of the ultra wealthy.
