Here we are, with another (mis) adventure with a member of Trump’s ‘cabinet’. She made a mistake. Trump made a mistake. Okay, okay, nothing new, but this one is worth it. This one could cause even more serious problems. It may not be Epstein-level trouble. Yet. Appreciation to Raw Story:
Former Trump official turned critic Miles Taylor, on Thursday, said that the president’s spy chief, Tulsi Gabbard, could have just implicated the president in the fallout over why she was at the FBI raid of an election office in Fulton County, Georgia. In his Substack, Taylor described how Gabbard “over-explained” the reason she was at the Georgia FBI raid in a letter to Congress, which Trump flatly denied during a NBC News interview this week. The two also appeared to have accidentally mixed up their messages and the justification for seizing the 2020 ballots (Trump has falsely claimed and argued that the 2020 election was “stolen” from him).
(He must actually mean “stollen”. Heh.) Well, it appears the truth is finally coming out. There was no legitimate reason for her to be there, only that Trump told her to go. Now, why would you send a spy to get voting records? The FBI knows what they’re doing. The departments are almost completely unrelated. And gee, how much of this is going to get to Putin? Gabbard is blatantly pro-Russia. What a perfect position to send Putin all the juicy details of undercover life in the US and spying around the world.
“Gabbard didn’t just say she happened to be there. She said the President requested her presence and specifically directed her observation of the search. That’s extraordinary,” Taylor wrote. “The Director of National Intelligence does not run criminal investigations. She does not execute search warrants. She does not supervise FBI evidence collection at state election offices.”
The comment also raised some serious questions. “Either Gabbard is lying, or Trump is. Or possibly both,” Taylor explained. “None of those options are good. But the biggest question is why would the President personally send his spy chief to observe a federal search of a local election facility? If I was still working on Capitol Hill, I would urge that the oversight committees immediately open an investigation (and at least the Democrats, if the Republicans refuse).”
The further we go in this article, the more disturbing it becomes. This raid was essentially right down the street. We know Trump is on a Revenge Tour. We know about the things he tried to do in Georgia. And we definitely know there was enough evidence to bring him and others up on charges. But for me, it doesn’t make any sense.
“There should be nothing wrong with the fact that they went in, got ballots from a while ago, and they’re gonna look at ‘em. And now they’re gonna find out the true winner,” Trump said. His comment about “the true winner” was most eye-opening, Taylor explained. “This might be the biggest smoking gun of all,” Taylor wrote.
“The President of the United States is suggesting that FBI agents raided the Fulton County election offices to get old ballots from the 2020 election for an unauthorized, unconstitutional recount of the state’s election results — not because of spurious ‘foreign interference‘ worries, which is the threadbare justification Trump and his spy chief are apparently trying to use — potentially to break the law. This is dictator-level stuff, folks.”
BOOM. There we go. If foreign interference helped him before, why would Trump care about it now? But pay attention. Dictator level. This is not Trump’s fabled “dictator for a day” misdirection. It pretty much says he intends to become a dictator, and it’s only luck that he hasn’t gotten that far yet. He’s also breaking the law. He is having Gabbard break the law. As it was pointed out to me recently, he is only going after the records for the county where he was brought up on charges. The election is gone. What’s done is done. So what’s going to happen to those records?
Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise that among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

I hope to God that Fulton county has back up data.
Considering all that happened there with the RICO charges, I hope they do too. It’s worrying me more and more as time goes on. At least they are trying to get them back. Are the Republicans here still going to be brave enough to continue to fight back? Good damn question.
I try to look for positive things, but they are getting further and further apart. My family politics are opposite from mine, so we have agreed to not discuss it. Otherwise at least I still have that. But the country?
it turns out that last year she seized voting machines in puerto rico claiming, without evidence, that they are insecure.
Puerto Rico? Now it ‘s getting beyond ridiculous. Seize voting machines down there??!! Apparently she didn’t think it through and realize the things had to be flown or boated back. Whaaaaat??!!
