Trump’s Approval Numbers Are Bad. What About His Cabinet?

I know, I know, “Susan, not another Trump piece”. Well, it isn’t, not exactly. It really is about his cabinet and how they are disliked. Trump keeps having to answer for their screwups. I’m sure he’s not happy about that. But he picked them, so he “can’t” fire them, not without looking Really Bad. Well, staff were on a revolving door on his first term – why not on his second?

CNN analyst Harry Enten had some bad numbers for U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, whose popularity is collapsing among Trump’s cabinet officials, surpassing even that of controversial anti-vaxx Secretary of Health and Human Services RFK jr. “What a disaster for Pam Bondi, and therefore Trump,” Enten told CNN anchor Kate Bolduan. “If I’m Donald Trump, I’m just going, ‘what the heck is going on here?’” said Enten, referring to an aggregate Quinnipiac survey of Trump cabinet officials who are underwater.

That makes it worse. Most of Trump’s cabinet is underwater. Ouch. Now, those of us with intelligence are not surprised because of all the stupid things they keep doing. They never learn! I would hope at least one person would, because he certainly seems to have a brain. Maybe the urge to keep Trump happy overrides that. But holy cow, this list!

“Okay. So, Pam Bondi was already underwater and I wouldn’t be surprised if she goes underwater more,” said Enten. “Take a look here at the net popularity of Trump cabinet members. Look who has the lowest number on your screen right here. Look how far underwater Bondi is at -19 points. Now, none of the folks on your screen here are in positive territory, but none of them are as far underwater as Pam Bondi.” The same survey cast RFK Jr. at -7, State Secretary Marco Rubio at -10, DHS Secretary Christy Noem at -11, and Department of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth at -13.

There are only a couple that aren’t on that list. I will say I was hoping for Stephen Miller to be underwater because he’s so beyond disgusting, I can’t think of a word to describe it. Once Trump finds out about this, and he will, there’s going to be hell to pay. They’ll have to start dodging ketchup bottles. I wonder if they buy them in bulk. Having to buy a bunch of singles would suck. Moving on.

“She is, at least by the numbers that I’m looking at, the least liked member of Donald Trump’s cabinet. And it ain’t even close,” Enten said, pointing to Bondi’s performance in handling the Epstein files. “Nobody — nobody — likes how the Trump administration has been handling them. Of course, she’s been in a key leadership role. This just goes all the way back to who is the biggest pain in the rear end in the Donald Trump administration for him. Who is he having to answer for? Oftentimes, it’s for Pam Bondi, and the free speech situation is just another example of that,” said Enten.

Blondi has announced she will prosecute hate speech, and that’s protected under the Constitution. OOPS. I hope the judge(s) laugh at her and throw the case out. That’s if she can get one started in the first place! But in the meantime, she’s going to cause someone to waste their time and money and lose wages. What a bunch of hooey. I don’t think she’ll count that as a win. She will be embarrassed again. Trump will be embarrassed again, and he will not like it.

Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that of all of the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love.
