The Trump campaign must be the wildest place in this country to be working right now. I mean, you would be better off digging coal at the bottom of a mine shaft right now than trying to deal with the temperaments and personalities who are desperately seeking some way to turn the campaign around since Hurricane Kamala started blowing down the tickey tacky blowhard policies that Donald Trump has been towing around, like a Peanuts character with a red wagon.
Trump does resemble Charlie Brown right now. He can’t get a break. Except unlike Charlie, whose life travails one can so easily emphathize with, Trump does not arouse any kind of compassion or sympathy. This is all reality TV to him. It always has been. And what has happened to him is that the Democrats came up with a candidate who not only blows him out of the box substantively, but who does television better than he does. He cannot stand it and moreover he cannot withstand it — and that’s why he’s going to lose. Bigly.
Jason Miller announced another debate yesterday, which he called a “third” debate, for September 25. Who knows where he got that date from or even the idea that Trump would debate Harris again? In any event, within the hour Trump took to social media to say that there would be no debate and then Tulsi Gabbard jumped on Fox News to clarify that there would be no debate. That was fully anticipated. Here’s what Rick Wilson said about it.

That is spot on. Which is why almost nobody could believe yesterday that Jason Miller was on the level. But then Karoline Leavitt backed him up shortly thereafter and said that maybe an October date would be agreed to, according to the New York Post. So clearly there was conversation about a second debate (or “third” if you want to buy into their narrative that Harris refused to do the Fox News “debate.” The truth on that is that she agreed to the September 10 debate which Biden set and Trump was the one who wanted to go on Fox News on September 4 and he did. There was never any intention by the Harris campaign to go on Fox News on September 4.)
Maybe we’ll never know what happened at Trump campaign headquarters but it’s safe to speculate that his campaign, realizing how wretched his September 10 performance had been, decided that they needed to have a second shot. That’s the most plausible explanation.
Or, and this makes even more sense: Trump himself was peacocking around saying, “Set another debate. I’ll kill the *#%@! I’ll wipe the *#@$^ ground with her!” and a lot more expletives. And somebody took him seriously. Seriously enough for Jason Miller to drag his ass over to Fox News. I’m sure Miller didn’t just dream it up out of the blue sky and I’m positive that a Fox News booker didn’t set up the airtime without having good cause to do so. And I have to believe that Fox News was not too crazy about publicizing a debate one minute and then having to recant it the next.
But whiplash over Trump’s suddenly changing attitudes towards the campaign is the very least of all their worries. They need to worry about getting out the electorate. Here’s a scene from Trump’s Tuscon rally last night.

I fact checked this and an estimated 5,000 people were in line at the Linda Ronstadt Music Hall. So let’s give them the benefit of the doubt and say it’s 5,000 people. Harris was at a packed venue in Greensboro that holds 22,000 people. So Harris had over four times the crowd that Trump had. And let me add this for comparison: Trump claims he had 127,000 people in New Jersey (you remember when the phony picture of a rock concert was posted?) and that would be almost six times as many people as what Harris had last night and that is simply not reality.
You can go back and look at the tapes of the Wildwood, New Jersey speech. Trump had as many people as he did because there was also a fair on the beach that day and a lot of the people who were there already straggled over and then left after a few minutes. Trump was just another side show on a beach filled with amusements and cotton candy.
There will be plenty of more rallies as we go into the stretch here. Let’s just compare and contrast them. If this keeps up it will utterly demoralize Trump and that will be amusing to watch.
All he’d get from another debate with Harris would be yet another *ss whoopin’. And he knows it.

You have America…land of fat little people who think they are brave and free. I’m going with the late great John Lennon, to paraphrase from Working Class Hero: you think you are so classless, clever, and free…you still look like phucking peasants to me. Exactly John. By the way John…you told the truth even though America, in its cultural hypocrisy burned your records, you were more popular than Jesus was in his lifetime. Last I heard he was tortured, exchanged for a known murderer, and hung on a cross. Now every phucking body thinks they know him personally. What a bunch of lying assholes.
