The Trump administration created a program for refugees in South Africa earlier this year. Apparently Donald felt there was one country on that ‘sh*thole’ continent worthy of his attention and help. Just part of it though. As it turns out his ‘Refugee’ program is intended to help WHITE people in South Africa.
That’s what we learn from reading this story from Reuters. In other words a credible international news outlet. Given the gravity of such a charge I for one feel their sourcing is solid. Here’s what they report:
According to Reuters, American diplomats in South Africa earlier this month asked the U.S. State Department whether it was allowed to process refugee claims from South African citizens who spoke the Afrikaans language but who were of mixed-race descent.
The diplomats received a response from Spencer Chretien, the senior bureau official in the State Department’s Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration, who informed them that “the program is intended for white people,” writes Reuters.
Wow. I should note that in the lede to their article when stating Trump intended the program to be whites only they used the word “explicitly” to describe his intention. So again, I think they have rock solid sources on this. Given how folks in his administration lie as easily as their boss, Trumpty himself does they naturally are denying the program is aimed at white people. Sure.
Let’s not forget as Reuters reminds us earlier this year Trump was blasting out bullshit about white genocide in South Africa. Or crap about how blacks had taken over everything including stealing all the land and resources. For the record Reuters points out that even though only 7% of South Africans are white they own three fourths of the land. Still.
Dara Lind of the American Immigration Council, reacting to the Reuters report, explained on social media platform Bluesky the reasons that Trump’s refugee program for Afrikaners is highly unusual. Lind pointed to the fact that the United States government at the moment is still trying to block refugees who have already gone through a two-year vetting process from entering the country, whereas it let many Afrikaner refugees into the country after a mere two weeks of vetting.
“Two years of vetting is insufficient, but two weeks is enough to know if someone will ‘be assimilated easily’—as admin officials said when the Afrikaners came,” she observed.
It’s another case of Trumpty doing his “If you’re white you’re all right” routine. Remember how he tried to get Scandinavian people to immigrate here? All those white folks with blonde hair and blue eyes? The thing is they like where they live. They’re happy and even though they have a much higher tax burden than Americans are fine with it because it makes their countries great places to live. So poor ole Trumpty is hunting for WHITE immigrants from elsewhere. Like South Africa with it’s “poor” “persecuted” white folks who make up a tiny portion of the population but own most of the land and have most of the money.
Between that and all those decades of Apartheid I can see why black citizens there would be resentful, at least of the whites who STILL think their skin color makes them superior beings. However, not having your ass kissed and even dealing with some open resentment is NOT persecution. Except to people like Trump. Well, his wrecking of our once venerable and world leading diplomatic status continues. Rubio might as well suck up to Trump by hanging a ‘If you’re not white then don’t bug us’ sign on embassies and consulates.

What’s funny about this story, though, is that many of the first wave of “refugees” have already expressed remorse because they thought they’d be getting tons of financial assistance in the “relocation” process and be free to continue speaking Afrikaans, just like back home, only to find they haven’t gotten that financial help nor are they finding their choice of language to be any more acceptable of “furriners” (even white ones) who won’t speak “American.”
