In Trump’s diseased, rotting brain there exists the belief that every country wants their very own Trump Tower. Australia is a country which with we’ve enjoyed solid relations and cooperated with in multiple ways. Militarily. NASA. Diplomacy in the Pacific Rim to contain China. During my life they’ve gone back and forth politically but it’s a stable place with much to offer including tourism, and thus a place Trump would want to plant his flag in the form of a Trump Tower. Well, the plug on the project announced by Fredo 2 (Eric) early this year has been pulled. Mostly by Australia!
This is entertaining on multiple levels. Given their tourism industry Australia would seem a good place for a Trump Tower/Resort. And, he of course chose the Gold Coast, Queensland for it. The Gold Coast is one of the county’s larger cities and sprawls along some twenty miles of shoreline with the Coral Sea. It’s a thriving place and a top tourist destination, so Trump and his idiot sons had to figure ‘what could possibly go wrong? Well, as this article from The Daily Beast explains the answer is plenty. There were ‘issues’ from the very start including Trump and the Fredo’s inability to ‘read the room. And yes, Trumpty’s war with Iran figuratively blew up his proposed construction although it clearly was a matter of time before the project imploded.
Construction on the project was supposed to start in August but as I said there have been issues from the start. Developers down there are blaming Trump’s “toxic” brand. Well DUH! I’m not saying Trump doesn’t have supporters in Australia and even in the Gold Coast City itself but yes, he’s as toxic down under as he is in the rest of the free world. In addition to all that, I’m sure many Aussies taking a look at Trump’s makeover of our White House and DC in general, his tasteless tacky lack of style and shuddered at the thought up what he’d throw up (no doubt with cut-rate/substandard construction – see the title pic) and say “Pass.” And The Altus Group who was in charge of the project saw the writing on the wall:
But on Tuesday Altus Property Group CEO David Young announced that he had pulled the plug on the deal, citing ongoing Middle East conflicts and the president’s tarnished reputation.
“Let’s just say that with the Iran war and everything else, the Trump brand was increasingly toxic in Australia,” he told Australia’s NewsWire.
“Some time ago, we knew it was time to part company.”
