We are the weekend before the Iowa Caucus and things are getting plenty strange. All of the four participants are in town. Vivek Ramaswamy has managed to get himself excommunicated from MAGA. His political career is over and the media career that everyone assumed that he was shooting for looks to be dead in the water as well.
Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis are fighting it out for second place — and that’s a shockeroo for DeSantis. Iowa is the basket that DeSantis put all his eggs in. Fox News is reporting the latest polls. Trump stands at 48% support in the poll, with Haley at 20% and DeSantis at 16%. That puts quite the damper on DeSantis. It was going to be difficult enough to beat Trump, now he’s got to beat Haley as well? So, as the snow falls and DeSantis prays for a miracle, what’s up with Trump?

The hand shots are meant to display something called dystonia. Dystonia causes an involuntary jerking of the muscles. I think the juxtaposition of these pictures in the thread where Trump is veering off to the left is to suggest that dystonia is responsible for both things.
Trumpty is not looking at his best tonight, that’s an absolute.
You’re getting the flavor of this. Here’s some more local color. I, for one, am glad I’m not in Iowa. For one thing, I hate snow. I was out today in nothing more than a sweatshirt and regular shoes (I almost never wear shoes, I live in sandals.) Viva Las Vegas.

And here is food for thought. This bottom lines it.
We will know a great deal more in a very short while. If Nikki Haley beats Ron DeSantis, this would be his moment to bow out. But will he? Or will he hang in? He’s already suggested that he doesn’t expect to win in New Hampshire but is looking onward to South Carolina. If he loses in all three, then what? Depend on the western states for a miracle that will never come?

All respect to Professor Tribe, but I fear that even if (when??) Trump loses, his supporters will continue their rampage of hatred and bigotry. Look at the laws being passed in red states. But he is correct, it’s up to voters to demand public virtue from their elected leaders.
I posted this just a few minutes ago, which I am afraid ties right in to what Tribe was saying:
None of this Trinity are legitimate candidates as all three support or caused insurrection. It is time to start attacking every Republican that has done anything to support the insurrection or its participants. If we don’t, we are putting ourselves in a time machine taking us back to Gerald Ford and Nixon, which is when the real moral decline began in this country. It wasn’t the end of prayer in public schools or abortion. It was Republicans spitting on the rule of law and our Constitution.

I thought the point of the hand shots was the number of Bandaids. He appears to have had a lot of accidents, or IVs .
