Yes, it’s been said many times before and will be said many times again until Trump shuffles off this mortal coil; may it be soon. Or have him go off his rocker so badly that he needs to be hospitalized. And as mentioned earlier, he chooses the strangest things to obsess about. It’s partly understandable, knowing him as we do, and partly abnormal. We have to let him go until the 25th amendment is called (highly unlikely) or until he gets too ill to continue, and considering how much we’re pretty sure his doctors are covering up, *that* isn’t going to happen anytime soon, either.
He has this overblown idea that Democrats are going to come after him after midterms. Now it’s rather nice he has so much confidence in us, but Petey Boy is the first to be impeached. We may not get it pushed through the Senate, but we should still have a chance of it with Hegseth. Then there’s a chance of going after Trump. Oops. It’s already started after all. They should start on the War Powers first, since Trump (supposedly) is going to attack Iran again after the midterms. Please, lawd, no boots on the ground. Pack up your toys and go home, boyos.
Then it goes into the surreal. He talks about various well-known Democratic figures he should go after. This is not a sane man, not when he’s talking about it out loud in front of the press. No president should consider anything like this *ever*. We know what happened the last time, and that was because he couldn’t face the fact that he lost. That’s a bad day to remember. But it seems Trump is more talking to himself than actually planning to pull something, at least right now.
Respect to Raw Story:
Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump told Peter Doocy of Fox News that he’s aware that Democrats plan to impeach him on the first day they have control of Congress. He claimed that Democrats don’t have a reason to impeach him, even though articles of impeachment have been filed against him for his unauthorized war against Iran and suspicious pardons.
Trump then levied a threat against Democrats that stunned people in the room.
“I could have done very bad things to Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and Barack Hussein Obama,” Trump said. “I thought it was inappropriate to do so because you have to treat the office of the presidency with respect. Then, I found out them impeached me. Twice! To this moment, I can do whatever I want if I want. They’ve done some very bad things. It was just mentioned in the form of a question what they did, very illegal what they did.”
WHAM. He could do things to people. He could do things to specific public figures. I can do whatever I want if I want. Yes, thanks to SCOTUS and absolute immunity, doing something when he’s president means that if he did and got caught, he would be able to slide out of it. That’s not treating the office with respect. That means doing something detrimental to certain people. That is not a sane man. We can guess that the information went out to Clinton, Biden, and Obama. Just in case. Yes, they have Secret Service protection, but there’s no telling what crazy thing Trump could come up with. I fervently hope he was idly musing, because that is something I don’t have a word for. Feel free to tell me my concern is unnecessary. Trump said it.
Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that, of all the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
