Once again I curse the shade of Ronald Reagan for doing something he should never have done, which is to eradicate the Fairness In Broadcasting doctrine. Perhaps he did it deliberately so that these kinds of lies could promulgate on the airwaves and be disseminated to an unsuspecting public. That’s an awful thing to say and I’m not accusing him of it, but surely he must have been knowledgeable enough about human nature to know that minus that safeguard things would get wild on the airwaves. Since the abrogation of the Fairness Doctrine we have seen the rise of right-wing radio. Matt Drudge and Rush Limbaugh soon rose to the top of the dung heap and the two of them paved the way for Fox News and what we saw this morning.
He didn’t do any of that the first time around.
Just more of his lies.

You saw Trump’s lie that he “never said Lock Her Up!” in this interview. That’s now going viral. And here are some other whoppers. After all, the interviewee is Donald Trump.
"They now want to quadruple your taxes, quadruple," Trump claimed, calling it a "sickness." The hosts didn't follow up. Maybe he's referring to a Biden proposal to "quadruple the stock buyback tax to 4%," which "has slim chances to turn into a law" https://t.co/jPVycrSnQ3

Trump mostly just repeated what he said in Friday's speech. ("Scam." "I'm gagged." "My poll numbers have gone up.") The hosts mostly just prompted Trump to portray himself as a victim; they barely asked questions at all. But there WERE some telling moments >>>

These sorts of misstatements are par for the course when Trump speaks. So are the inconsistencies – he calls Biden "this guy that can't put two sentences together that's destroying our country." This stuff should be documented, IMHO. pic.twitter.com/I6mTzY7ArF

Pete Hegseth asked: "How's Melania doing?"
Trump: "She's fine, but I think it's very hard for her. I mean, she's fine but it's, you know, she has to read all this crap."
— Brian Stelter (@brianstelter) June 2, 2024
She has to *read* all this crap? Does that mean that they don’t discuss these matters over intimate candlelight dinners, and she rubs his back and says, “Poor poor Donald. Poor man. Friendless and alone. And hey, I’d be there beside you in court but I’ve got a mani/pedi and my tennis racket needs repair. Maybe the next trial.”
What an unrelenting stream of pure cow pucky. And while you’re here and in need of comic relief, here’s a video of the “Trust Jesus Trump Bus” which had a defective parking brake, or something, rolled down the street in Staten Island and crashed. Maybe it’s an omen. (And no, I don’t know why he’s campaigning in New York, still, when New York is not a swing state. Ask Oddjob Steven Cheung.)

As out of control as the candidate himself. Sheer poetry, life imitating life, making an artistic and philosophical statement.

The only way to restore my trust is to never let him in any office ever again.
Ok, maybe his little pretend oval, down at MAL.
Home confinement. With bars. Regular prison food. No communication with the outside except regular prison calls. All the conjugal visits… with wife I guess🤷🏽♂️. And he gets to keep the bars… for future use (but gets billed for maintenance).
Declassifying State Secrets to promote trust?
That’s like taking away punishment to reduce crime.
Simply vote, to:
Stupid is as stupid does. Forrest Gump
The NEXT biggest bill boards for Trump’s pleasure, “Trump, the man of MANY LIES”, “A convicted FELON”, “LOCK HIM UP !!”, “NOW” …
With marquee lights flashing around the board and lighted letters flashing on in order, NO ONE COULD MISS THE MESSAGE, even driving down the freeway …
It doesn’t matter if they’re classified or not – he still doesn’t have the right to stash them in a washroom/storage room/golf club house or wherever or to claim they’re ‘his property’
Maybe if Trump really wants to help “build trust” and “declassify things people are talking about,” he could start with HIS TAX RETURNS. You remember those? The things he refused to release during his first campaign, then he couldn’t release them after taking the White House because he was being audited (even though it’s perfectly legal for an individual to release his own tax information, even while being audited; it’s the Feds who aren’t allowed to do that–at any time).
Funny how the Fox “news” hosts didn’t bring up that suggestion.
On Satuday we went with neighbors to dinner, and on the way home, we encountered the Trump Store “bus” in all its glory – no visible license plates, moving approximately 25 MPH on a State Parkway, where commercial vehicles like that are PROHIBITED. Our neighbor was behind the wheel, and we were all pleased to get past the obstruction the “bus” presented, and thought nothing more of it. We wondered if the “bus” would be spotted on the parkway by the State Police, but I guess they got away with that one (Not for long, evidently).
Now, seeing the Accident Recovery video, and hearing the narrator relate the reconstructed events of the incident, it looks like the Trump Store bus was truly an accident waiting to happen.
