We all love the governor of California because he has no hesitation in trolling Trump and pushing back against his lies. He comes up with something better All The Time. You would think Trump would have given up by this time. But Trump “never loses,” so he can’t do it. He keeps trying and doesn’t seem to notice that it makes him look like an idiot (again). President Donald Trump tore into California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) in a Tuesday post on his Truth Social platform, but the two-term Democratic governor didn’t take the attack quietly. The president began his post by attacking Newsom’s plan to build low-income housing in the Los Angeles area, and for “not accepting Hundreds of Millions of Gallons of Water from the Pacific Northwest” in the wake of the fires that consumed large portions of L.A. earlier this year.
Oy. Still on the water idea. Trump keeps harping on the water with no idea of how it actually works. And he keeps on pushing conspiracy theories that have no basis in facts, but he either can’t see it or won’t see it, because he keeps on trying. Gavin must love it because it provides so, so many opportunities to show what an idiot Trump really is.
MAGA won’t accept the truth that their idol has feet of clay. They will defend him into hell and back. But some MAGA people are noticing and stepping away from the MAGA insanity. Most Democrats already know this. They (me included) cheer with every post Trump makes because we know there’s a chance Governor Newsom will wipe the floor with him.
Newsom issued a blistering takedown of Trump’s claims on his own X account. He highlighted certain lines of the president’s Truth Social post and wrote “LIE” next to them while fact-checking each claim. The California governor began by saying claims that wealthy neighborhoods were being rezoned for low-income housing were “conspiracy theories.” He also pointed out that no water from the Pacific Northwest is connected to Los Angeles.
PUNCHED. There we go. Trump is busted for his claims. Again. Gavin is having too much fun here. Trump will not ever admit he’s losing, so it becomes the same shizzle, different day. Trump has bigger things to worry about (see: tariffs), except he won’t. So we get our weekly entertainment.
“The Governor does not issue housing permits, L.A. city and L.A. county do,” Newsom wrote. “They’ve issue[d] 885+.” Newsom also noted that the federal government does not issue housing construction permits. In his fact-check, he wrote: “There is no such thing as a federal housing permit. They have been ‘approved’ because they DO NOT EXIST.” “Take your dementia meds, grandpa,” Newsom tweeted. “You are making things up again.”
Dementia meds. Oh, the laughter! We know Ttump is sliding into dementia. He shows it every single day. Soon, the dementia days will outnumber Trump is himself days. And then, who knows what will happen to us. I cringe just thinking about it. He’ll make an ever bigger mess, and I/we will *really* wonder if it can be fixed. Ouch.
Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that of all of the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love.
