I don’t know why people are worried about Joe Biden’s age, especially if what we’re talking about is a Trump/Biden rematch. Trump does not look good in the short video you’re about to see. He looks like he’s dragging and riding around in a golf cart between holes is not exactly the most strenuous of effort.

Joe Biden exercises every day. And Biden doesn’t need a White House lackey doctor to record ridiculous height and weight measurements. Biden takes care of himself, as did Obama and Dubya.

But the game show host who is running for the GOP nomination in 2024 is always up late crashing parties at Mar-a-Lago, eating junk food, and riding in his golf cart. If he would go back to the Oval Office, where he used to show up at 11:00 a.m., this time he would probably show up at 1:00 p.m. If at all.

Look at the man’s eyes. He doesn’t seem to be with it.

This is how I think this will all go down next year: Trump and DeSantis will battle it out. If Trump wins the nomination, then it will be a Biden/Trump rematch and Biden will beat him like a drum.

If DeSantis wins the nomination, Trump will react like a three year old and go out and run as an Independent. He’ll bleed enough votes away from DeSantis to ensure a Biden victory.

If anybody else has an idea how this could play out, please let us know in the comments.

All I care about is the bottom line, which is that Uncle Joe gets reelected.

  1. If either of them are the only two GQP options, how could it be any other way? Even so, we should still keep an eye on other Republican creatures waiting in the weeds. Mango Mussolini may have too many court appearances to bother and I still look for DeathSantis to do a Jeb! faceplant.

    • Looking in his eyes here was an amazing experience. He seriously might keel over. And I’ll feel zero pity, as always. He has done all this to himself. The legal hassles, his physical condition, all of it.

        • Forgive me. Of course you’re right. A man having to cope with a blue light on a phone can be forgiven much. And only a classified folder will work to block the light, isn’t that extraordinary?

  2. As much as I love Joe Biden as our President, he’s done great things for the United States in the 3 years he’s been in office, but in all honesty, I don’t want him to run again. We need some young blood in the White House and I think Hakeem Jeffries would fit the bill. He did say if Joe decided not to run in 2024, he would throw his hat in the ring. I think he would make an awesome President. He’s articulate, smart and reminds me a little of President Obama. It’s time for Joe to retire and enjoy life with his beautiful wife Jill. My guess is DJT won’t be around in 2024, as I’m sure he’ll look dapper in his new orange attire! 😉

    • Joe is the oldest president and I don’t view that with the horror that many people do. It has to be borne in mind that people age differently nowadays. I’m a teenager compared to how old my parents were at the same biological age.

Yes, Joe is up in years but I think one of the good things about his presidency is showing people that a person in their late 70’s, early 80’s, is far from a basket case.

I had a dear friend once, who died in his late eighties. When he turned 80 I called him to wish him happy birthday. He said, “I don’t feel 80. I feel 55.” I said, “You might still be 55 mentally and physically you’re doing okay as well.”

I’m on Joe’s side on this one. I want him to run again.

    • I’ll tell you a true story. I have been correctly predicting the outcomes of presidential elections since 1972. Really. The one and only election I got wrong was the Trump/Hillary bout. The reason I got it wrong was because I was oblivious to what the right-wing was doing, how they grew and festered in resentment during the eight years of Obama.

When I began to look at clips from those years (like in the top clips of the year that Right Wing Watch does) it became obvious to me why Trump won. Crystal clear in fact.

I vowed I was going to keep an eye on these things going forward. That was seven years ago. Something horrible might happen again, yes, but will it take me by surprise? No.

      • DJT did NOT win the popular vote; lost it by 3,000,000+ votes. What he did do was secure the Electoral Count, and that is more a matter of which states. Hilary faltered in campaigning by not spending more time in both Michigan and Wisconsin….or any of the other ‘decider’ states….

  3. I will shortly turn 70. I walk 4 miles everyday and lift weights 2-3x a week. I weigh 165 and am 5’11”. I stopped running after the pandemic hit but I was running an hour, not jogging, on the treadmills at planet fitness 2x/week just 2 years ago. A lot of these ‘young’ folks are physically older than I am. I have never smoked cigarettes & I don’t touch hard liquor. There’s a lot of arrogance and ageism around, but it’s empty headed prejudice. The only people who think experience doesn’t matter are those without any. Joe will be fine. I would vote for a turnip before voting for a fascist of any age. It’s that goddamn simple.

    • You, and I , might vote for turnips before destroying our country but there are what amounts to turnips out there who are allowed to vote who do not give two shits if the country is destroyed just so long as it is destroyed by their guy.

      • There are a lot of damn fools in this country. Sad but true. Trump brought them to life. The hardcore MAGAs are all fools, and then the rest of the GOP deluded itself into thinking Trump was going to turn into something he wasn’t and be presidential. At least the intelligent among them, George Conway for example, admit that they thought that way and that they were stupid.

That said, Liz Cheney voted for him twice. What was she thinking?

I’ll answer myself. The GOP is so bereft of leadership and out of gas that they were happy to let this buffoon lead just so they had a shot at regaining power. And maybe they’ll put him on the ticket again.

    • I agree with you 100%. It’s not the chronological age that matters, it’s the physical and mental age. I, right now, am physically older than 70, due to illness and I need to fight my way back to some physical well being again.

I used to ride horses, and body build before I got malpracticed and became disabled. So now I’ve hired a couple of new specialists and I’m working on getting my health back.

Joe has it together physically and mentally. Because of his age and his propensity for gaffes, he’s depicted as frail and falling apart. That’s bullshit. Joe had the old fire going at the State Of The Union address. He’ll do fine in a second term. And I sincerely believe it would be good for this nation to see an older man complete his professional journey.

Ageism is an ugly thing, one that I find myself fighting daily nowadays. Maybe I should dye away the silver and grey. That’s probably a lot of it.

  4. As pasty and sweaty as he looks, maybe he’s got Covid again. The other thing, he always looks sickly when he wears white. He doesn’t have the complexion for it. Someone needs to show him pictures of himself in his white golf shirts. As vain as he is, he’d maybe get different colored shirts. As for Joe, I’m with you, Ursula. He’s doing an amazing job and he’s showing how fit he is on a regular basis. Yes, he does sometimes have speech issues, but I think part of that is that his brain is moving faster than his mouth can. I supported him from the get go. Although I respect a number of his competitors, I didn’t believe they were electable, given the toxic climate in this country. Someday, maybe.

    • If I had been able to pick the perfect Democratic ticket, and if this country was not so toxic, I think Elizabeth Warren with Pete Buttigieg as her VP would have been the hot number. But no way in hell this country is ready for a female president — and I hope that changes soon. And certainly an openly gay VP would be a scandal and the two together, you know what that would have been.

I’ve always liked Joe. I liked him as VP, I liked his no bullshit ways, and his empathy.

And frankly I’m glad that the powers of evil are focusing on his age and not his alleged pedophilia. Jesus, that was ugly.

    • Look, it could happen. The man is not young, he’ll be 77 in June. He’s considerably overweight, eats junk food, all of it, as stated previously. Add to that picture extreme stress, which I assume he must experience with all this legal madness swirling around him. How could that not be stressful?

Golf is his one outlet but from the looks of it, that’s an ordeal.

Anything can happen. DeSantis might become the new torch bearer simply because Trump drops dead. Not saying it well happen, saying it mine.

Personally, I don’t wish death on the man. I wish a long prison sentence on him.

  5. I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t make it to the election. then, we will actually be in some trouble.

Fingers crossed he lives long enough to completely derail the morally bereft Republican party’s across-the-board election hopes of 2024.

We *really* need a bit longer to carefully work through all the chaos the previous 4 years brought – to us and others around the globe.
