Donald Trump is not happy to see the network that once catered to him so diligently take up the cause of another candidate. In fact, he’s so unhappy with the situation that he’s imagining that Fox News is actually going out of its way to conceal a recent poll which shows him 15% ahead of DeSantis.
They’re not. Their website shows that Trump is leading 43% to DeSantis’ 28% with Mike Pence and Nikki Haley trailing at 7% each and Greg Abbott and Liz Cheney coming in with 2% each.
Nevertheless, Trump is riled up and paranoid, believing that Fox is “hiding” it’s own poll because they’re so far in DeSantis’ camp. What really has him upset is not that anything is being hidden, which it’s not, but rather it’s not being ballyhooed and broadcasted about 24/7. That is Trump’s beef.
That’s the headline Trump wants to see, “TRUMP Crushing DeSanctimonious.” And back in the days when Trump was the de facto assignments editor for Fox News, he could have gotten that headline printed. That would have been just fine with all parties concerned.
“Currently, the GOP primary dynamics are simple,” says Daron Shaw, a Republican, who conducts the Fox News survey with Democrat Chris Anderson. “DeSantis needs Trump to falter because most of the former president’s supporters see the Florida governor as the second-best choice. At the same time, other candidates need DeSantis to falter because his supporters have no single fallback option and would be up-for-grabs should he flame out.”
And the poll also revealed that 77% of people favor mental competency exams for candidates over 75 years of age. That could be amusing. Let’s see how Trump stacks up with person, woman, man, camera, TV against Joe Biden talking about his 50 years of government service and giving details. I would watch that.
The poll also revealed that 53% of Democrats want another candidate besides Joe Biden and this is stupid, people. We need to rally around the guy we’ve got. Let’s not let fears of ageism blind us to the fact that we’ve got a winning situation in Washington and we don’t need to fix what isn’t broken.
I despair at Democrats sometimes. This puts me in mind of Will Rogers’ quip. “I’m not a member of any organized political party. I’m a Democrat.” Can we just accept the fact that we’ve got it good right now and not go all cat herd crazy? A perfect candidate is an impossible dream. Let’s remember Biden’s own words, “Don’t compare me to the Almighty, compare me to the alternative.”

Let’s hope the 53% of democrats don’t pull a Jill stein and help the fascist take over America. Hey dumbasses…yeah my fellow democrats…why not remember where we were when Joe took over and all he’s gotten done without a majority in the senate. There were 48 democrats, 52 fascists, including two liars who claimed to be democrats. Fact. Smarten up or prepare for hell on earth. You were part of the problem in 2016. A vote for stein was, in reality, a vote for Trump. And those of you who stayed home…and didn’t vote for Hillary…you have children’s blood on your hands. We can’t change the past, but goddamnit, LEARN FROM IT.
