Donald Trump projects like an IMAX theater. He called Hillary Clinton “crooked” — look who’s talking — and Joe Biden got the label “Sleepy Joe” early on. Today, a barely awake Trump stumbled his way through remarks at the podium, once again, and he got the facts bass ackwards. Once again. New Civil Rights Movement:
On Thursday Biden called on the nation’s governors to issue across the board mask mandates. Trump, in a campaign speech delivered under the false pretense of a coronavirus news conference, attacked his Democratic rival, and falsely claimed Biden had called for a national mask mandate instituted by presidential decree.
Trump, who misuses the power of his office regularly, claimed he did not think a President has the power to mandate mask wearing (he or she does.)
“Every governor should mandate mandatory mask wearing. The estimates by the experts are that it will save over 40,000 lives in the next three months. Forty thousand lives, if people act responsibly,” former Vice President Joe Biden said Thursday, referring to scientific studies. “It’s not about your rights. It’s about your responsibilities as an American.”
Trump kept faltering along, repeating himself, through the so-called news conference. And there was the obligatory lie about how great the United States is doing and another oft-repeated lie about how other countries “call all the time” because they’re so amazed at the job the U.S. is doing. Trump has not announced which countries those are, or on what planet they’re located. It’s a cinch it’s not this one.
It would have been interesting if some reporter in the room would have asked why Americans are banned from traveling in so many countries right now, if the handling of the pandemic in this country is the envy of the world.

But here’s a ray of hope. Huffington Post reporter S.V. Date asked Trump if he regretted all the lies he’s told the American people.
Wow. A reporter (I'm not sure who he is) asks Trump, "after three and a half years, do you regret all the lying you've done to the American people?" Trump quickly moves on to the next question. pic.twitter.com/DHn3UvXHnN

I must say, that was a breath of fresh air. We need to see more of that.
It’s beyond time for real questions.
I read that the reporter who asked that question is S.V. Date.
It’ll be a gradual thing, this trickle turning into a flood. But flood it will when it becomes obvious how little power he has. Hell, he already admitted the Post Office stunt was just to push back on COVID 19 relief in that same conference.
The USPS stuff is also to keep people from voting by mail – especially in blue states.
Pfft…it’s psy ops, P J, and not particularly good psy ops at that. He’s as good as admitted that he’ll fold on this like he has everything else. When will people stop buying his mad god version of events and LOOK?
They’re delaying mail NOW. People aren’t getting their meds. Or bills. Their bill payments get delayed, too.
His man in charge of the postal system is removing sorting machines from processing centers, besides denying any overtime. They are trying to bring it to it’s knees.
No, they’re trying to make you panic and it’s working. Give him your fear, you give him leverage. As he has enough of that, keep pushing back until he inevitably folds.
Also removing mail drop boxes in Eugene and Portland, for starters.
Quit confusing “now” with “later” or “forever”. Another thing that isn’t getting through are the packages and mail businesses need to keep running, including what few are standing by Trump’s GOP. Keep the pressure on him and he folds within a week and a half tops. Same…as…it…ever…was. Nothing was ever going to prevent our continued suffering with him in charge. But acting like he’s won ANYTHING here is handing him leverage we do not need him to have.
trump is allowing the USPAI was just listening to Rachel Maddow’s commentary on how the USPS is slowly being dismantled before the election so that mail in ballots cannot be counted. Since that is the case, we must do what several states, like Georgia, did: Take the necessary precautions, fuck the virus, and get our asses out in the street and vote, standing on line for however long it takes. My wife, who is in a wheelchair, made me promise to take her to the voting booths in November.
Sorry, USPAI should read, USPS
I daresay it’s Putin who calls all the time and flatters his puppet before giving him more lessons in Dictatorship 102.
