He’s finally figuring out that he is human, just like the rest of us. The changes started in his first week, and look at how far down he has gone. A leg brace. Swollen ankles. A possible catheter. Bruising on his hand. He’s having trouble moving. But he aced his cognitive tests, his CT scan, and his MRI. Hooey. It’s difficult to forget about things when you have to deal with them every day. He puts on a decent show, not a good show anymore. And, of course, imagine if this were former President Biden. My gratitude to Raw Story:
President Donald Trump appears to be “cornered” by his own mortality as the cracks in his coalition deepen, according to one expert. David Rothkopf, the former editor of Foreign Policy Magazine, discussed Trump’s continued efforts to find a way out of the war in Iran on Monday’s new episode of “The Daily Beast Podcast” with host Joanna Coles.
Rothkopf noted that Trump’s old tricks of getting someone to bail him out, charming others, or bulls——- don’t appear to be working. That is happening at a time when several MAGA figures like Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), Sens. Thom Tillis (R-NC) and John Thune (R-SD) seem to have realized that the political winds are blowing away from Trump, Rothkopf noted.
Yeah, it seems that some Republicans took off their heavy-duty rose-colored glasses. They’ve had enough. Why in the heck didn’t they see this sooner is beyond me. Congress can’t coast anymore. Trump is wrecking the country, and they are having to answer to their constituents for what he does. (That includes ICE.) There are a lot of pissed-off people, including me. Hey MAGA, are you taking a new look at your orange tin god? People still couldn’t handle a woman as a president, again, so we’re stuck with this psychotic, narcissistic, sociopathic child. Thanks for nothing.
“He’s cornered, and nothing he’s doing is working,” Rothkopf said. “All his old tricks … He doesn’t know what to do. And on top of it all, he’s dying. He is old. He is infirm. He disappears for three days at a time. He doesn’t have what he used to.”
No, he most certainly does not. There’s a 99% difference between Trump in his first term and Trump in his second. He can’t handle rallies anymore. He just sounds old, weak, and tired. In a way, that’s sad, because he is aging so dramatically. Everyone can see it because the change is so stark. We know he’ll never admit it, unless he truly has no other choice. Can’t see that happening, not yet. Even a physical problem, such as his heart, may not get him to admit it.
Rothkopf added that Trump’s inability to pass some of his signature policies through Congress, such as the SAVE Act, is an example of his waning power. “These are cracks,” Rothkopf added. “Each one of these are cracks at what you might call not the glass ceiling, but the MAGA floor. And the more cracks, the sooner it is that he falls through the bottom.”
He’s already on the way down. Look at how the polls are changing. Look at how he talks or texts. He’s incoherent half the time, and when he does manage actual words, they make very little sense. I detest Trump, don’t get me wrong now, but this is disheartening. What he used to be, the day he came down that ugly-ass gold escalator, to now, is stunning. It’s sad to watch someone deteriorate. It really is. And the chances of the 25th Amendment being put into play are very, very slim. Dammit.
