We all know that Trump is the King of lawsuits, and that doesn’t even count the ones his DOJ is starting. Now the ones *against* him get blown out of the water because he’s surprisingly slippery for a man with all of 2 brain cells. How slippery, heh, is a question for the ages. There was this tiny little news item tucked away in one of the emails I get. From Raw Story:

President Donald Trump has quietly dropped a lawsuit against the Des Moines Register and pollster Ann Selzer for a survey that showed former Vice President Kamala Harris ahead in Iowa before the 2024 presidential election. “Plaintiffs President Donald J. Trump, Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks, and Former State Senator Bradley Zaun, give notice of their dismissal of this action,” the group wrote in a motion on Monday.

Now, how about that? It seems Trumpty threw in the towel on this lawsuit. Now, it wasn’t going to get him much of anything anyhow, but still, he closed it. Considering all the ones he’s started, I’m, yes, surprised he shut one down. I wonder who whispered in his ear and got him to think on his own that it wasn’t worth going through.

Trump sued Selzer and the newspaper in December for a poll indicating he was losing the race in Iowa earlier that year. The original lawsuit sought “accountability for brazen election interference committed by the Defendants in favor of now-defeated former Democrat candidate Kamala Harris.” “Contrary to reality and defying credulity, Defendants’ Harris Poll was published three days before Election Day and purported to show Harris leading President Trump in Iowa by three points,” the suit explained. “President Trump ultimately won Iowa by over thirteen points.”

What a bunch of hooey. Free publicity that wore out its welcome in a hurry. And it was a *poll*. Maybe he didn’t want to pay any more to his lawyers for this one? We all know how well he does at stiffing people. By the way, who gets to track his lawsuits, anyhow? That’s a full-time job, there.

“Defendants and their cohorts in the Democrat Party hoped that the Harris Poll would create a false narrative of inevitability for Harris in the final week of the 2024 Presidential Election. Instead, the November 5 Election was a monumental victory for President Trump in both the Electoral College and the Popular Vote, an overwhelming mandate for his America First principles, and the consignment of the radical socialist agenda to the dustbin of history,” attorneys for Trump added.

Blather, blather, blather. What’s done is done. Fortunately, that’s the last of the article. “Monumental”. “Mandate.” Mercy, it was only in his dreams. *He* thinks it was, and that’s what matters to him. It doesn’t matter to us because we know better. Thanks for sticking with me!

We thank all of you who have donated. You’re keeping this blog on the internet, believe me. One of the battles we fight is the inconsistency of ad revenue because politics in this country is so polarized, and a lot of advertisers just seek to avoid the political. They’d rather advertise on food blogs and be safe, doughnuts before democracy. All we’re trying to do is stay in business because we believe the work is important. Thank you if you can assist. If we didn’t need it, we wouldn’t be asking. Ursula
