You win some, you lose some. Too bad, so sad. Well, no, not sad. And not only is the report showing a loss, but his actions are also getting shredded. He’s losing twice. I’m rubbing my hands together and cackling because it Serves Him Right!!! The only bad thing is that it’s not as public as I would like. From Raw Story:

CNN data analyst Harry Enten raked President Donald Trump over the coals on Friday following the dismal new jobs report, taking the president to task for taking every possible opportunity to blame someone else for his woes while pushing ahead with aggressive tariffs and other policies the business world warns are constraining growth. “Let’s dig into those numbers a little bit, take a closer look at what the jobs report tells us,” said anchor Erica Hill.

I say OOPS. Trump was not expecting the numbers to be this dismal. Even with the new leader he forced into the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the one who doesn’t know what he is doing, and then add in that Trump has very much lost the trust of the Bureau, it’s dismal. Plus, the Bureau is supposed to be apolitical!! You can’t spin bad news much at all, and this report was even worse than the previous one. Ouch. Blowhard is going to have yet another fit about this.

“Well, I think one of the big takeaways, at least according to the Trump administration, is the buck stops way, way over there whenever there’s bad news. It’s not their fault. It’s somebody else’s fault!” said Enten, roasting Trump. “It’s just been a very weak four months.” Previously, the president responded to the weak numbers in July by firing the Bureau of Labor Statistics chief, causing a massive outcry among experts who fear a chilling effect on honest statistics-gathering by the federal government.

Isn’t it always somebody else’s fault? Trump refuses to admit he made a mistake and that something’s going wrong. That’s one of the few things we can always count on from him. Bad things are from other people. But he certainly toots his own horn (sometimes when he doesn’t have enough information, hello, bunker busters?) if he thinks something has gone right and he can bathe in the glory – such as it is. The glory is not always what it first seems, and can turn around and bite you.

Erica Hill then asked, “And how does this compare to President Trump’s first term, Harry?” “So, you know, they were blaming the Biden administration, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera, you couldn’t expect a change,” said Enten. “But let’s compare Trump versus Trump, okay. Median monthly jobs added during Trump so far during the second term, you got 91,000 jobs dating back since January. In his first term, look at this, it was more than double that number, more than 200,000 in the median month added. So Trump is doing, get this, get this, he’s adding less than 100,000 jobs this month. He was adding two during this term. During the first term, over 200,000 jobs. So less than half the level that we’re talking about.” “So versus himself, he’s doing horribly,” Enten added.

Hahahaha. Versus himself, he’s doing horribly. That’s just beautiful. And he’s doing horribly in a lot of other ways (hello, Kennedy Center?). That strike on the Venezuelan boat is also about to cut him off at the knees. He’s doing worse and worse, not better and better. Eventually, it will all come back to him. And he won’t like it.

Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that of all of the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thanks. Ursula
