Holy crap, he did it. HE. DID. IT. We have attacked Iran. Good grief, what was he THINKING??!! This is a disaster. Bad enough we have all this crap going on in *our* country, but attacking Iran? It seems we have another Middle East mess on our hands. I did not want this to happen!
I’m just stunned by the stupidity. We haven’t been *out* of there that long. And now we have to send resources halfway around the world? With ICE insanity going on? And tariffs are still unsettled? That 90 days deadline is coming down the pike. Then they’ll jump back up. The only things I know about are the UK and China. He won’t support sanctions on Russia. And now he gets us into a WAR we didn’t need to be in!
I just looked at the map of our resources over there. We have a pretty good amount of them, basically across the river (sea?). I counted 11. ELEVEN. If Iran’s been able to hit Israel with drones and missiles, they’ll easily be able to hit the things that are much closer to them. Nice going. From CNN:
The US has struck three key nuclear sites in Iran, President Donald Trump said Saturday evening. The sites are Fordow, Isfahan, and Natanz, which lie at the heart of Iran’s nuclear ambitions. The strikes were “successful”.
Iran had been warning the Trump administration away from going through with strikes, saying it would drag the US into the conflict, said CNN’s Senior International Correspondent Frederik Pleitgen. “I spoke to the deputy vice president just yesterday, and he said that all options as far as Iran is concerned are on the table, that there are many options on the table,” Pleitgen, who is currently in Iran, said. Iran will now have “to calibrate what their response is going to be,” he added. “I think they’re still trying to figure out what exactly is going on. It’s still very early here. It’s 4:30 in the morning. So we’re looking to hear more from them.”
I’m pissed. And worried. We’re going to lose people. We could lose a LOT of people. I’m glad my brother has retired from the Marines. I’ve been scrolling down in the updates to see what else I could find, and this next bit is something I should have expected, I guess, but…geez.
House Speaker Mike Johnson and House Majority Whip Tom Emmer released statements praising President Donald Trump’s strike on Iran, with Johnson saying this is “America First policy in action.” “The military operations in Iran should serve as a clear reminder to our adversaries and allies that President Trump means what he says. The President gave Iran’s leader every opportunity to make a deal, but Iran refused to commit to a nuclear disarmament agreement,” Johnson said in a post on X. Emmer echoed Trump’s statement announcing the strikes in a social media post, saying, “NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE.”
We just attacked them, and now is the time for peace? Good grief, that’s stunningly stupid. How could you tell a country that’s been bombed that now is the time for peace? That’s the *last* thing on their minds. Now they’re looking at whatever the US has over there and planning attacks. I don’t believe these bull cookies.
