And he might not be able to climb out if it. The on again off again tariffs are hurting us. Prices continue to increase. The economy is wobbling more and more each day. What he is doing continues to clobber the end consumers, anyone that doesn’t have goo-gobs of money like gazillionaires do. Remember how his campaign was about lowering prices and helping the economy? Ha.
I wish Traitor Tot could figure out how badly these tariffs are hurting us. Won’t happen. He loves the power of them. And now he’s spreading it out to our trading and business partners outside of North America. They are coming right back at us just as hard. Other nations are tired of us!!!
This makes me crazy. He’s so inconsistent, on again, off again. Then he keeps changing his tune on what will or won’t be tariffed. And good grief, still that 250% tariff on dairy? Get real!
I noticed something interesting today that I should have noticed before. Agent Orange is all over the tariffs for Canada, Canada, Canada, and China, China, China. Mexico hasn’t been in the news practically at all. What’s up with that? Remember 25% tariffs across the board but delayed? What about this whole fentanyl being smuggled in at the border, and you have to stop it? But we’ve heard just about nothing.
He’s been provided with any number of off-ramps and escape routes. I don’t think he’s listening to his advisors. The word is, they say the situation is “fluid”. Uh huh. Stable til his addled brain comes up with another tariff deal. He keeps trying to flex those brain muscles and it’s not working. However, officials from Canada and the US have agreed to meet later this week to negotiate their trade disagreements and hopefully nip the potential trade war in the bud.
Investors are concerned this will become an own-goal, manufactured economic slowdown,” said Art Hogan, chief market strategist at B. Riley Wealth Management. “We don’t know what the endgame is.” I’m not sure there *is* an endgame, just a want and need for more, more, more power. And Wall Street, Corporate America and consumers are growing fed up with the routine.
A recession isn’t around the corner. But the threats are rising. It’s going to hit people like you and me and it’s going to hurt more than it already does. Why can’t someone shake some sense into the Mango Mandarin? Is there anything in there that could *be* sense? Highly unlikely. I’m afraid to watch the news every day, but I do so I can bring things to you, the reader. Thanks for sticking with me!
*****And now, please read a very special request from our awesome boss******
Friends, if you can afford to support the site with a donation or if you want to go ad-free with a subscription, it would help us continue the work. I’m sure the rest of the Democrats will tune back in in the due course of time but for right now only the hard core political junkies are here and we thank you for being one of those. We have a long, hard task ahead of us to get out of this mess and it all begins with having information. Ursula

The financial networks such as CNBC barely mention the impact that consumer boycotts are having on the economy. I’ve observed that economists pretty much take consumers for granted. Yes, there have been targeted boycotts in the past, but now tens of millions of Americans are flexing their economic muscles and saying they don’t want the Trump economy to “succeed.” They recognize that the regime’s policies are meant to help only the wealthy, not average citizens.
I have seen one article about how the boycott kicked Target’s ass. They lost a bunch of money. But yes, we are pushing back and it’s awesome!
Either he’s not listening to his advisors or his advisors are giving him bad advice. Or both, depending on the advisor, or maybe what day of the week it is.
He went after Canada because it’s big and heavily connected to us. He also.hates Trudeau because he,’s young, smart, handsome, has a wife who actually loves him, and Melania made goo-goo eyes at him. Zelensky is similar–a former tv star like Trump, with a wife who loves him, good-looking,admired by his people, and brave– everything Trump is not.Trump has no.concept of policy or international politics. It’s always personal with him. Was thst leader not deferential enough? Did he praise Donnie enough? If not, punish him.
Having observed the cognitive dissonance of his base along with the abject capitulation of republicans in Congress to this creature and his agenda, I see this playing out but one way. Tangerine Jesus will begin to feel some small measure of heat due to his unrivaled ineptitude as some voices begin to cry out from the pain he’s inflicting on them with his policy decisions. No matter, The Chosen One will take to the airwaves to assure the faithful that all is well. More than just well.
There will be some blah, blah, blah, about the greatest economy ever and no president has ever achieved the level of magnificence as he himself has, the one and only Sir Liesalot! And just as they believed him instead of their eyes and ears with regards to the imaginary hellscape we were living in with Joe Biden at the helm, things will get much worse than they ever should have before the cucks in Congress decide they must reclaim their role as a check on executive power. At least I hope they finally do. Politicians in general and republicans specifcally are unique among humans and other politicians in that they are extremely self-centered, not to be confused with selfishness, and willing to debase themselves to hold on to the great gig they’ve landed.
These are people who might believe they have a destiny of greatness bestowed on them from on high and whatever they do to ensure that their destiny is fullfilled in justified because “we the people” need them. This is very similar to rulers from a thousand years ago who peddled the idea that they ruled by divine right and utter nonsense.
