This isn’t the least bit surprising. Trump always does this. He puts an outrageous idea out into the mainstream by floating it, running it up the flagpole to see if anybody salutes. This is his way of gauging how intense the support/opposition to any idea may be. It’s also his way of telegraphing his own intentions way in advance. Don’t forget, Michael Cohen and a lot of other people predicted January 6. Trump floating the idea of staying in power by saying, “We’ll see,” if presented with losing election results, happened back during the debates with Hillary Clinton.

Now does that mean that: 1. We’re supposed to give him a third term as a reward? or 2. We’re supposed to let him run for a third term? Right now both are against the law but breaking the law is the last thing that bothers Trump since he gets away with it all the time.

It has also slipped Trump’s mind that Robert Mueller passed away at the age of 81 on Friday and just yesterday Trump was “glad” about that. Trump will be 81 in 2027. He’ll be 82 in 2028 and then 86 four years later. That’s granting for the sake of argument that he lives that long.

It would require a constitutional amendment but Trump seems to think that that’s no biggy, he’ll just breeze through it.

This is the trial balloon that he’s floating. Mark it well. It’s not a joke, he’s serious as a heart attack. And he was ruminating earlier today on Kamala Harris running again in 2028, so maybe that’s what he sees, is a rematch. Or, a match against Gavin Newsom.

But be careful what you wish for, Donny. If you can run for a third term, so can Barack Obama. Although frankly, I don’t see Trump having the power to change the Constitution right now. We’ll see what the March 28 marches look like but right now the GOP is bleeding support.

Plus, it’s all a game to Donald. He just wants to see if he can pull it off. And during a third term, he probably wouldn’t even bother to leave Mar-a-Lago, he’d just entertain foreign dignitaries down there and phone the job in the rest of the time.
