It must be a combination of uppers, downers, insomnia and maybe the hairspray is starting to seep into his brain and causing him to hallucinate. Say, ya spose that’s why Tucker went to Moscow recently, to see if anybody there has an idea on how to get Trump back in the White House? Or get Tucker back on Fox News, or better yet, both? In all events, Trump seems very sure of all these states that he is going to flip. Just like eggs, Trump is going to flip them. There they are blue one minute but he speaks magic words over them, maybe even throws a magic bean or two at the pan and POOF! Now they are red states, hugely, bigly, with tears in their eyes, big strong states, beautiful tremendous states, saying, “Sir, I voted for you. We all voted for you. We will all crawl over broken glass to vote for you, always. Just keep throwing those ketchup bottles.”

I seriously am not worried about him flipping New York. I base that assessment on conversations that I’ve had with New Yorkers for many years, both pre-Trump and now, and they hate him back there. Especially the folks in New York City. They’ve been putting up with Trump and the tabloids and him ripping off workers, the Central Park 5, the whole ball of wax, for decades now. New Yorkers, in the main, are far more sick of Trump than the rest of us, if that’s possible. Also bear in mind that the Stormy Daniels pay off money trial is slated to begin March 25. I strenuously doubt that that case will go much better than his other cases have gone to date and the result will most likely not win him any votes, let’s just put it that way. The facts are cut and dried, like in all of his cases.
And I’ll tell you something, I’m beginning to like these polls that show Joe Biden down. I’ll tell you why. There was a poll that predicted that he would carry South Carolina in the Democratic Primary by 69%, with 5% going to Marianne Williamson and 3% going to Dean Phillips. The actual total was 96% going for Biden, 1.7% for Williamson and 1.3% for Phillips.
I think the psychology may be, “OMG, Biden’s not far enough ahead, we need to get out there and support him.” And to that I say, “YES!” By George, I think they’ve got it. I hope that we all get it.
I hope that Americans are not stupid enough to vote away democracy and vote for fascism instead. And that, very simply, is the choice in November. Do you want to remain living in a constitutional democracy? Or, do you want to try fascism, like the Germans did in the late 30’s and you know what happened to them? It really is as black and white as that.
Donald Trump is not in his right mind. I don’t know who answers these polls but if in touch Americans are in the minority and stupid Americans are in the majority (and I point you to the results of 2016, not so long ago) then I sincerely don’t know what we will do.
The grand experiment of the past 240 some years may just be gone. I don’t think it will be, because I am mightily encouraged by how Democrats turned out in droves in the New Hampshire primary to give Biden a write-in win, and I am also delighted to see that same kind of voting muscle in South Carolina.
That’s what it will take to win the 2024 election. Trump and the crooks in both chambers of Congress who support him and who would write his coattails into positions of power which they do not deserve, yes Elise and J.D., we’re talking about you, need to be banished from the body politic.
Let’s start with Trump first. As to the likes of Stefanik, Vance, and the others, they may come to understand that following Trump blindly and spouting his dogma comes at a high cost.
Remember how the GOP just LOVED mocking Gore for losing (not by a lot) his home state of Tennessee back in 2000? Oh they just loved that. Tweaked him about it for years. Well, Trump considered himself THE quintessential New Yorker. And he got his ass KICKED there both in the city and the state. Same in neighboring NJ. Where people knew him best they hated him and it showed in the results of two elections. No wonder he decided to slink away to a red state and declare himself a resident of FL. Nowdays his beloved Trump Tower is just a place he stays in so he doesn’t have to shell out for a hotel room. And I wonder how much of that ten thousand square foot condo has actually be closed off. Furniture covered in cloth. Furnishings shipped down to FL or over perhaps to Bedminister. I’d be surprised if these days 1k square feet are normal living and working space. Well, Trump has about as much chance of winning either NY or NJ as I do of having Biden name me Commandant of my Marine Corps. Not gonna happen!
He’s hated in New York. I don’t know if I shared this with you, but one of my oldest friends (“oldest” in terms of how old he is and also in terms of how long we’ve been friends) is an actor in Manhattan. He’s lived there probably 50 years and told me Trump stories right when all this idiocy began to hit the fan. New York wants nothing to do with Trump and I’m pretty sure that Judge Engoron will make that clear, sooner rather than later.
My actor brother-in-law that lives in San Francisco told us in 2016 that some of his friends in NYC were saying Melania Trump hadn’t lived with Donald in two years. She couldn’t even stand him and he pays her.
