Now isn’t this interesting? Ran across an article about Trump boasting, wrongly, about his BBB. Well, it’s certainly not beautiful, except to the gazillionaires. Now sure, polls are just a slice of the American population, but what we are seeing is it’s bad for tRump and I think it’s going to get worse. From CNN:

On Friday, before signing his massive domestic policy bill, President Donald Trump proclaimed at the White House that “it’s the most popular bill ever signed in the history of our country,” adding for emphasis that “this is the single most popular bill ever signed.” That is an up-is-down reversal of reality. The bill is wildly unpopular, poll after poll has found. While polls can be off, this bill wouldn’t be popular – let alone the most popular US bill ever signed – even with a massive and widespread polling error.

As I was saying, yup. It’s just going to get worse when all the things cut by his BUB start hitting. It should be fun to hear from red states who just got screwed along with the rest of us. El Presidente Imbécil just lies, lies, lies. See my eyes rolling back in my head and coming up lemons.

Reviewing the numbers and the similar findings of two other polls about the bill, CNN chief data analyst Harry Enten said on air on Monday: “You just never see numbers this poor. I have been trying to look through the history books to find if there was another piece of legislation that was on the verge of passing that was as unpopular as this one, and…I cannot find one.”

CNN senior reporter Aaron Blake reported June 20 that the polling numbers made the bill “more unpopular than any piece of major legislation passed since at least 1990, according to data crunched by George Washington University political science professor Chris Warshaw.” And in an analysis published Friday, before Trump spoke, data journalist G. Elliott Morris wrote, “On average across pollsters and methods, 31% of Americans support the One Big Beautiful Bill, while 54% oppose it. That net rating of -23 is, to put it mildly, absolutely abysmal.”

All the polls I’ve seen are this way, where this BUB is underwater. I don’t know where tRump is getting the information that says it was a good idea. The good thing is that I saw information about this on EVERY news website, so we all know what we’re in for. Well, not exactly a good thing, but at least we know. That’s better than getting blindsided. Here’s a bit more about what Trumpolini said.

But if Trump has any evidence for his claim that this is the most popular bill in American history, he did not provide it on Friday. The president also made other false claims in his White House remarks: A false claim that “we’ve delivered … no tax on Social Security for our great seniors.” And, a false claim, which Trump has made repeatedly, that President Joe Biden allowed in “21 million” migrants.

Nothing could be further from the truth. What I would like to know is what *else* in the BUB is going to sneak up on us and bite us hard. Maybe we could borrow some alligators for it. If any of you know more about it, please tell me in the comments. Thanks for sticking with me!

We thank all of you who have donated. You’re keeping this blog on the internet, believe me. One of the battles we fight is the inconsistency of ad revenue because politics in this country is so polarized, and a lot of advertisers just seek to avoid the political. They’d rather advertise on food blogs and be safe, doughnuts before democracy. All we’re trying to do is stay in business because we believe the work is important. Thank you if you can assist. If we didn’t need it, we wouldn’t be asking. Ursula

  1. “I don’t know where tRump is getting the information that says it was a good idea.”

The same place he gets all his “facts” and “information”: Out of thin air or out of his fat ass.

  2. You might think that anyone having their lies collide with reality as much as this guy has would have made a course correction somewhere along the line. He didn’t. It seems like the lies have gotten bigger and more brazen, but that could just be my perception. One thing seems clear: the sheer volume of lies has increased due to the expertise of his cabinet full of liars and deceivers.
