I love revisionist history, don’t you? And nobody is better at it than Donald Trump. It was known that he would have to punch back at Bill Barr for Barr’s heresy on Fox News Friday morning. That was a no brainer. But it is interesting to hear Trump’s spin on a couple of things.
First, I don’t believe Trump fired Barr long before the end of his term. I think that the version Barr tells of resigning and then Cipollone chasing Barr out into the rain to tell him Trump changed his mind about the idea after slamming his tiny fist on the desk sounds a lot more plausible.
And as to Trump’s spin on how Barr could have ended the Mueller investigation years earlier, puh-leeze. This is what desperation sounds like.
Barr was Trump’s “killer” his Roy Cohn surrogate, until he wasn’t. That’s the long and the short of it.
Look to Trump to stay on top of the laptop conspiracy theory. It’s all he’s got. As the political waters wash over his head for the last time, he’ll be seen clutching at that straw. I wouldn’t be surprised if his last word on his death bed, Citizen Kane style, is “laptop.”
Bear in mind that Trump is so credible sounding when he lies because he believes the lie. Yes, on some level Trump knows he lost the election but he also on some level believes the lie. And I believe that he believes that the Laptop From Hell is just that.
Let’s see what tomorrow’s Wilkes-Barre rally yields. Expect it to be nuts. Trump needs this rally like a junkie needs a fix. It’s been a hot and heavy three weeks for him. He needs the roar of the greasepaint and the smell of the MAGA crowd, all agreeing with him that it was somebody else’s fault, and that soon, soon, he’ll be back on top. Soon.
Laptop may be it, but I think ‘twitter’ may bubble up. Narcissists never forget a wounding.

Wait Al. You must not understand the ‘legal process’. First prove multiple crimes have been committed by the person in the highest & most powerful office…to cover up his other crimes…then let him go free to commit more crimes. Hope that clears up how ‘equal justice under the law’ ACTUALLY WORKS. Glad I could be helpful. Now let’s hear from the ‘experts’ here how it’s all part of the process.
Trump is even stupider than I thought. If Barr were actually threatened with impeachment, does anyone think he wouldn’t have turned IMMEDIATELY on Trump and offered the House every last bit of (juicy and damning) information he had on Trump?
Also, I guess Trump does NOT understand impeachment any better, even after two impeachment trials. When the House sends the articles of impeachment to the Senate, the person in question HAS BEEN IMPEACHED. It’s then up to the Senate to determine guilt or innocence with a mere 51 votes being enough to render that point; however, to actually punish the party, it requires 67 votes (assuming a full complement of Senators) to remove the person from his or her office. It would be incredibly interesting if enough Senators could manage to remove Barr from office especially if he got the opportunity to testify at his Senate trial. Just as soon as he tied Trump to *any* of the offenses that led to Barr’s impeachment proceedings (which he would be able to do as the “defendant”–even if he were challenged as to why he didn’t fight Trump’s “demands,” you know he’d simply say that he’d be “fired” and replaced with an even more willing-to-obey-orders lackey), I imagine there’d be enough Trump-supporting Senators that there’d be no conviction. And I can’t really see the Democrats wanting to take down Barr when Trump would go unscathed.

man, the more I hear this bs from people like mtg and others, the more I get nauseated. not one of these congressmen and women from the right, and the ones that know better have brought up important and serious issues in this country. its all about how dt got ripped off in the 2020 election. some of these people need to be charged and convicted of treason! what I saw last night with JOE BIDEN being ridiculed and photo shopped to look like Adolf Hitler should be a crime of highest treason! these aholes should thank our system of free speech in this democracy. love your country obey the highest rules of law.
Anthony, they do not care. They think that A) they will be the ones in control should they succeed at turning the U.S. into a theocracy not realizing the top of that organizational chart has no room for them (or any desire to welcome them, and/or B) if it all goes to hell their jeezus will cart their asses off to heaven. They do not see the evil they do and having no talent for introspection they do not realize it at a later date to correct their behavior.
As for the bit about photo shopped images of President Biden: do you honestly think progressives did not do the same to former guy?
