It never ceases to amaze how Donald Trump outs himself all the time and doesn’t realize it. He had a phone interview with Sean Hannity and revealed that he had recently had a cognitive test at Walter Reed and the doctors were “very surprised” he passed it. Here’s the clip. And of course he takes a swipe at Joe Biden and his mental faculties.

Now, could this recent test at Walter Reed be when he left suddenly at night last fall? And maybe they were “surprised” he passed a cognitive test, because he had had a stroke? Not fomenting conspiracy theory, merely speculating. Trump is noticeably slower these days. Don’t forget the hesitation going down the ramp and the lifting of the water glass with both hands. Who knows why? And here’s a thought: why else would he or anybody take a cognitive test in a hospital unless there was some kind of an episode like a stroke?

  1. “Rarely does anyone do what you just did” said the doctors as Trump “aced” the cognitive test. His puffery for himself knows no bounds. People ace cognitive tests all the time It’s just an indication that the person taking the test can spell the word “world” backwards, is able to subtract 7 serially from 100 down, knows the current date, and perhaps can identify a common object or two and maybe answer a couple other simple questions. Almost all sane adults can pass it with flying colors. I agree with your speculation about a vascular event. Good article.

    • Thank you. And why would a person even be having a cognitive test? It’s not like we all wake up and one morning decide, “You know, I think I’ll go have a cognitive test today. That’s always been on my bucket list.” Trump is always incriminating himself.

      • Well you know they give you test like that when they are trying to see if you are competent to stand trial in a crime. Just saying.

    • My mom is of the opinion that he a) has had coronavirus (helping to account for the inner circle’s infection rate) and b) that he suffered a stroke (the weakness on his right side reminding her of her own stroke some years past). What we know of the science on COVID 19 would fit with these conditions being linked. Add in his poor health and even more poor maintenance of that health and he’s ripe for both.

      • I’m with you and Ursula on this, absolutely sounds like a TIA signs of a noticeable change in appearance, gait, distance judging all things that would key a doctor/doctors call for testing … his statement went on to the fluffing stage immediately, did not mention all the fine wires stuck to his head and the big machine surrounding him, with a very special monitor in front of his face … while laying as still as he could flat on his back …. a full blown stroke would probably have left a non-working appendage … of course with an immediate response to a full blown stroke could save his life and limit the results, but chances would show some permanent speech or visible change …

  2. Trump wants everyone to think he’s a smart person, but he’s an idiot, so he can only pretend to be an idiot’s idea of a smart person.

And he’s not even good at pretending.

  3. A more likely scenario to me is that Trump picked up how his handlers are regarding him as senile (correctly) and that he made this story up from whole cloth.

    • As someone who ran psychiatry admissions at a prestigious university & a large psychiatric hospital, the only reason it would be done is due to concerns raised by observation. Draw ur own conclusions. All of them are probably pointing to someone who has damage.

    • Check out his appearance on the lawn just before stepping aboard Marine1 … his face is flush, but more animated, statements more clear, and uses 1 hand to emphasize his statement … he’s riding up the hormone curve the one about being on the golf course instead of pretending to know anything about being our POTUS … probably has a couple hits on that Oxygen bottle hidden in his closet, back in the WH before he leaves … of course his message is usually, “I never met the guy.” “No one told me about that before.”

  4. I don’t think BLOTUS knows enough about medicine to make up a ‘cognitive test’. ‘Cognitive’ is not in his vocabulary. People don’t get cognitive tests unless the Dr suspects some reason for needing one. A cognitive test isn’t part of a seniors regular physical unless the Dr notices something like an eyelid drooping or weakness /lack of reflexes on one side, There would need to be a sign or symptom the Dr notices. I’m not sure that late night run to hospital was part of stroke b/c even symptoms like someone suddenly not able to speak the correct words or someone who starts speaking gibberish and gets the medication for a stroke would likely be admitted for at least a couple of days. I think that the late night hospital run was a panic attack as people often feel like they are having a heart attack. I think the cognitive test was given because no Dr, other than one who signed a letter saying Trump is the healthiest and most virile man on the planet bar none, would let BLOTUS leave an office visit w/o doing one. The man is mentally unstable. Not to mention he does display symptoms that could be early onset dementia, however, I think he just has narcissistic Personality disorder and is a morbidly obese 75 year old. Letting BLOTUS leave an office visit w/o doing a cognitive test given his behavior/diet/family history of dementia would be actual malpractice. However, I think BLOTUS’ ‘acing’ it while every Dr in the nation marvels at how stable of a genius BLOTUS is is just BLOTUS’ typical MO. Just about every time he opens his mouth he wedges in some comment about how great he is, about how these or those people say he’s greatest yada yada yada

  5. If the doctors thought (or knew) he was bat shit crazy, they would definitely administer many tests. Has tRump just revealed something he should not have told us? OF COURSE he is lying about taking the tests or the results or the doctors’ amazement (more likely all three)!

  6. If I were his doctor and had to convince him to take that test, I would certainly tell him he aced the test – regardless of what the actual results would say . . . just sayn’ The last part of sentence would be silent – “for someone in your condition.”

  7. Just because they give you a lollipop, doesn’t mean you passed.
Listening to his descriptions and justifications for his actions reminds me of my father in the later stages of alzheimers.

  8. Yeah they were very surprised that he said he took the test. Hint, they were surprised because they hadn’t given it to him, yet.
