It’s not like GOP Presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy’s campaign had a snowball’s chance even in frozen Iowa. Still, Trump lashed out with a blistering attack on the guy all the same. Apparently moving from a campaign of “free drinks and free speech” along with lot’s of sucking up to Trump wasn’t getting it done. So he tried something new that got Trump’s attention.
He started selling his own merchandise that had Trump’s name on it and worse, with a message Trump didn’t like. I don’t know who came up with the idea that a t-shirt with the slogan “Save Trump, vote Vivek” was a good idea but Trump sure as hell didn’t it was. In fact, according to CNN Trump was furious. Apparently he feels Ramaswamy has tried to undercut his campaign while only pretending to be a Trump supporter. Trump lashed out on social media saying Ramaswamy was “not MAGA”:
“Vivek started his campaign as a great supporter, ‘the best President in generations,’ etc. Unfortunately, now all he does is disguise his support in the form of deceitful campaign tricks,” Trump wrote on Truth Social Saturday.
“Very sly, but a vote for Vivek is a vote for the ‘other side’ — don’t get duped by this. Vote for ‘TRUMP, don’t waste your vote! Vivek is not MAGA. The Biden Indictments against his Political Opponent will never be allowed in this Country, they are already beginning to fall! MAGA!!!” he added.
I don’t know why Trump would even bother. Like I said Ramaswamy is going nowhere, except maybe (in his dreams) into the VP slot. That was never going to happen. He’s not a white guy. Nor is he a woman, much less one Trump considers “hot” enough to be his running mate. Ramaswamy is however rich and maybe Trump didn’t want him hanging around in the campaign. Who knows? Trump himself doesn’t understand the workings of the pile of toxic dung inside his cranium so I sure as hell don’t.
I got a kick out of a headline I read which I gather was Ramaswamy’s initial reaction. It read:

Oh Vivek, for a guy smart enough to make a fortune you are clueless when it comes to Trump loyalty. It’s an “all roads lead to Trump” thing and NO loyalty flows back. For Trump there are clear rules – worship for him must be constant and all manner of begging forgiveness for transgressions are usually for naught. The other is that Trump NEVER forgives those who try to make a buck using his name without in advance cutting a deal for a) Trump’s approval, and b) how much Trump’s cut of the action will be!
I didn’t bother reading the Mediate article with the headline quoted above. I’m sure it contained some “backing and filling” by Ramaswamy but it doesn’t matter. Trump is throwing him to the MAGAs to tear to pieces. Hopefully next week we’ll have heard the last of this guy when he announces he’s dropping out. It will however be interesting to try and track how much Ramaswamy will wind up having to contribute to Trump’s PACs to keep MAGA Nation off his ass!
