I suppose this is better than wanting to train nine rifles on the former First Lady’s face, but not by much. The Raleigh, North Carolina presidential rally finally kicked off, late as usual. An old adage states that punctuality is the courtesy of kings but Donald Trump feels he owes courtesy to no one, so he got to the podium when he got there. The final New York Times/Siena poll came out this morning and it has Trump two points down to Harris, 46% to her 48%, in a state that he must win. Moreover, North Carolina was not even a state where he was competitive, until recently. (I’m not prepared to blame Trump’s downfall in the Tar Heel State on Mark Robinson but it’s an absolute that that horrific scandal hasn’t improved MAGA matters.) So now, Monday November 4, Election Eve, Trump is wisecracking to a half empty venue to little effect. And the beatdown goes on.

Yes, NASA was dead, all was dead until the magic MAGA moment when the Mango Messiah brought it back to life, like Lazarus. Note all this well, friends, because your great-great-great-great-grand descendents will be looking at it and asking, “What was America thinking to even allow this man to be a crossing guard, let alone Commander In Chief?” Maybe you should leave them a diary of these times. One thing that comforts me is that this blog and others like it do provide that service for posterity. Future generations can look at the comments and conversations that we had and know how all this affected us in real time.
Now Trump goes after Michelle Obama. Again. We are going to have to listen to that speech and dissect exactly what struck him at such a visceral level that he can’t shut up about it.

Nothing in Springfield has changed. Not a blade of grass. This is sheer propaganda and fantasy, courtesy of J.D. Vance, who thought that this would be beneficial, this dogs and cat cuisine conspiracy, but it’s all blown up in his face and become the stuff of mocking memes.

He is repetitive and blithering. There will be three more of these appearances today although I frankly don’t know why Trump is bothering. But we will diligently check in on each one of them, simply for the record. Simply to bear witness to the dwindling crowds, the bored (paid) spectators, the candidate himself who is up there going through the motions.
Tomorrow the death of MAGA becomes official and nobody knows what that will look like.
Here is possibly the speech that consumes Trump. I can only speculate what Michelle Obama said that he found so offensive.
Threatening yet another public figure. Garland, is this good enough for you to start going after this fool for his threats of violence WHICH, as I understand, IS actually against the law? If this is considered “free speech” then I claim my right to yell “fire” in a crowded theater–it has less of a chance of harming anyone.
I understand the A.G. of AZ is going after trump for his threat to Liz Cheney. GOOD! Maybe garland can take notes so he can do his f*cking job.
Garland is a waste of our taxpayer dollars since he’s petrified of doing his job. He should have been fired/demoted/reassigned to something he may be more suited to, whatever that may be
How odd that a convicted felon, out on bail, awaiting sentencing, can get away with threatening so many people.
In the context of his speech it’s clear that he’s talking about hitting her verbally to retaliate for her verbal “hit” on him. In this case, unlike with Liz Cheney and journalists, he’s not discussing physical violence. What I find most interesting in these clips is that his hands are hanging at his sides. He usually gestures throughout his speeches.
