Has anyone gotten tired of this yet? Or were people tired of it the last time he used it? Trump is constantly using two weeks as a deadline, but he always hopes we forget about whatever he’s promising when that two weeks have passed. I forget what it was the last time because it’s always two weeks. Never happened. From MSNBC:
When it comes to a possible U.S. military strike in Iran, Donald Trump has raised more questions than he’s answered. Last week, the president and his team went out of their way to say that the United States had “nothing to do with” Israel’s attack on Iran. This week, Trump declared, “We now have complete and total control of the skies over Iran,” before demanding the country’s “unconditional surrender.”
Yeeaaaaaah, right. First of all, total control my ass. Second of all, unconditional surrender? When Israel started the whole thing? Apparently, he thinks Israel will stop bombing the hell out of Iran if they surrender. Not happening. Israel doesn’t listen to us anymore. We need to keep out of this thing, except for looking for diplomatic solutions that either one or both of them might agree to. That, itself, is going to be a challenge.
At her latest briefing, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt acknowledged the “speculation” about the White House’s policy, which led her to read a prepared statement from the president. It read, “Based on the fact that there’s a substantial chance of negotiations that may or may not take place with Iran in the near future, I will make my decision whether or not to go within the next two weeks.” It’s difficult to say with confidence whether these negotiations exist or whether they’ll succeed, but the fact that Trump and his team has rolled out another “two week” timeline represents a remarkable failure of self-awareness.
WHAM. There we are. Failure of self-awareness. He continues to say two weeks, and *HE* doesn’t remember the last time he promised that. Frankly, in this instance, I hope he doesn’t feel the need to do *anything*. Another war in the Middle East, possibly moving into WWIII? JFC, no.
Not that again. We would *have* to support Israel, and Iran would be bombing our bases out there. So damn! Please let him stay out of this mess. But he’ll make a decision “in two weeks”. What a farce.
Last week, for example, the president said U.S. trading partners should expect letters on unilateral tariff rates in “two weeks.” Shortly before that, the president was asked about Vladimir Putin’s alleged interest in “peace.” He replied, “I can’t tell you that, but I’ll let you know in about two weeks.” Last month, Trump was asked about tariff rates on pharmaceutical products. “I’ll know in the next two weeks,” he said.
By now, most observers are probably familiar with how the game is played: The Republican is asked for his position on an issue; he dodges the question by saying he’ll make an announcement “in two weeks”; and then he waits for everyone to forget about his self-imposed deadline. Except, we don’t forget. Instead, we shake our heads in exasperation because of the cynical assumptions at the heart of this unfortunate rhetorical trick, which no one falls for anymore.
Yaaaaaawn. Let him just keep forgetting his timelines so we stay OUT of this war, we stay OUT of Gaza. We need to repair our own country first, before meddling in the affairs of the world. I wish we would. But we’ll know about his decision in two weeks. Just two short weeks. Just never. Thanks for sticking with me!

We thank all of you who have donated. You’re keeping this blog on the internet, believe me. One of the battles we fight is the inconsistency of ad revenue because politics in this country is so polarized, and a lot of advertisers just seek to avoid the political. They’d rather advertise on food blogs and be safe, doughnuts before democracy. All we’re trying to do is stay in business because we believe the work is important. Thank you if you can assist. If we didn’t need it, we wouldn’t be asking. Ursula

I’d almost be willing to bet if someone snarkily/jokingly asked him “When do you plan to die” or “When will Melania divorce you,” Drumpf would respond “I’ll let you know in two weeks.”
Let’s try tolerance…after all, ‘two weeks’ is…like…FOREVER to a toddler. His scale of time measurement is unique…his ending the Ukraine war in “24 hrs”, along with a number of complex issues he was going to end in that short span of time, has now hit 5 months and counting with no resolution. I know from many trips nature provides, time can become distorted. That being said, I wonder what definition of ‘hours’, ‘weeks’, or numbers mean to him.
When was Infrastructure Week?
Oh, that’s right, ‘in two weeks’ with Frump. It was implemented and stretched to four years with Biden.
