Tourism Down Nationally, Can You Blame the Rest Of the World, On These Facts?

I wasn’t expecting to run across something like this, which makes it even more disturbing. Trump’s people have taken over DC in a bad way, and if this works, you know he’ll keep going. How in the hell he can be blocked, I don’t know yet. From The Handbasket:

A delivery worker was tased, punched and kicked by multiple federal agents in the middle of the street outside a popular brunch spot in Northwest DC on Saturday morning, a video shared with The Handbasket shows. While customers sitting outside at the Logan Circle cafe munched on avocado smash and matcha pancakes, two and then an additional four masked agents beat the shit out of the man in broad daylight. This is America.

No kidding. This is us now, in the nation’s capital, that’s likely going to get a ton of visitors – assuming they don’t get turned around at the border when coming in. I wonder how much we’ve lost to the bullsh!t for business to see the World Cup next year. But anyhow.

This happened in broad damned daylight. They’re not even trying to be discreet. The masks give them anonymity, so they don’t care who sees them. Remember that ICE recruitment is taking applications from people as young as 14. Remember that they have practically no qualifications needed.

During the agents’ violent attack on a delivery worker Saturday morning in DC, bystanders repeatedly demanded that the agents share their badge numbers. One of them—his face fully obscured by a black balaklava—eventually shot back, “Do I have to answer to you?” It was a moment as brazen as it was astonishing. We’ve long known that federal agencies operating under Trump consider themselves above or outside the law. But to hear it stated so confidently, so plainly, that the federal government does not have to answer to the people who pay their salaries was jarring.

Ouch. It seems they will only answer to Trump now, and we know what that means. Thugs. People without a conscience. People who enjoy being thugs. This is what we’ve come to? Blatant beatings for people who are plainly overwhelmed? Six “agents”. SIX. 6 to jump on one person, who was making a delivery.

I’m still stunned by this. Broad daylight. Apparently, Trump has given them free rein to do as they please. They don’t follow laws anymore. “Agents” do what they feel like doing in the moment. I don’t think they will answer to anyone BUT Trump, and that includes Pam Bondi or Kristi Noem. Those two would likely just say, “More power to them. Deport all of them,” whether or not they are American citizens. This administration is going to hell.

“You guys are ruining this country. You know that, right?” one bystander said to the agents at one point during the incident. An agent, ironically clad in a rainbow face mask, replied, “Liberals already ruined it.” Again, brazen and astonishing. He’s saying the agents have no choice but to be doing so because liberals provoked them with their crazy ideas about freedom and democracy. He’s admitting that he’s acting in a partisan capacity and has no reservations about saying so. His words drip in disdain for anyone who believes our current police state is anything but an atrocity. 

Holy crap. THEY. DON’T. CARE. Law and order don’t count. Rights don’t count. These “agents” are doing what they please. If Trump doesn’t call off the dogs, it’s only going to get worse from here. I don’t want to try and imagine it. DC is bad enough. This is what we’ve come to, with over 3 years to go. NOTE: Please go read the rest of the article. It’s … astonishing.

Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that of all of the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working.
