The fascination that Mike Lindell holds for me these days is to watch how far the Boy Who Cried Wolf syndrome can actually go. Most of the sane world tuned out to Lindell way back but for those of us who are political die hards, we show up for the comic relief.

And on that basis, Lindell does not disappoint. He’s always got some bat$hit new angle on how the history of America is going to change, bam, in a heartbeat due to some revelation of his.

Yesterday, he said that today was the day. Here’s what that sounds like.

It’s almost noon in Minnesota at the time of this writing. If Lindell got an early start, he certainly could have called a few journalists, right? But you know and I know that the calendar will flip to October 11 and there won’t be one damn thing different.

Lindell has his own Reinstatement Cult, which is similar to the Doomsday Rapture Cults. Here’s a terrific thread which explains this phenomenon. You’ll enjoy this.

This fascinates me, the idea of disinformation being a form of drug. And I have to say, it makes more sense than anything else I’ve ever heard to explain the Trump phenomenon or this obsession of Lindell’s. If you want something to be true and you keep pushing it to be true and if it’s true to you, then apparently you can take a lot of other people into the fold.

It’s like Overton’s Window, the parameters of what is acceptable politically are getting pushed out all the time. If we agree as a culture to tolerate a certain form of behavior, then the behavior will continue, absurd and unreasoned as it may be.

I wonder if Lindell will have a statement tomorrow about his terabytes (terra bites?) and what went wrong this time. Or, will he just ignore it all.

  1. The mob figured this out long ago when they created a gambling mecca in Las Vegas. Keep them expecting to win big & they drop money they can’t afford to spend. Keep them supplied with O2 in the casino & they forgo sleep. Keep the alcohol flowing & judgement goes put the window. Addicts will sell their children chasing the high. However, what goes up MUST come down. Can’t wait.

    • This Big Lie/Reinstatement is Lindell’s new drug. From his manic behavior I surmise he’s getting some chemical assistance for his insanity, but this obsession is what gives him the real juice.

      I agree that what goes up must come down and his crash is going to be spectacular. But you can’t talk him out of it, obviously. He’ll burn through his last dollar. He said a few weeks back that his employees were terrified of losing their jobs. He blamed that fact on the media. I don’t doubt they’re terrified, I would be too. They’re working for a madman.

      • If there’s a board of directors, they could fire Lindell. But otherwise, the only recourse the employees have is to quit and find other jobs.

        • I seriously doubt there’s a board of directors in a pillow factory. Also, I doubt if the skills set required to make pillows is one that transfers into too many other kinds of work. I would be plenty worried, in their shoes.
