This is the new normal. Donald Trump abused his presidential powers like no one before him and we devoutly pray that no one else will ever do again. The pardon power was the most flagrantly abused, but coming a close second was the appointment power. Trump gave people appointments to positions that they were in no way qualified for, just because he could and he felt like it.
Joe Biden issued a request to a number of people, including Sean Spicer, H.R. McMaster and Kellyanne Conway, to resign their positions on military academy advisory boards, or be terminated this evening at six p.m. Here is Conway’s return punch. Anybody got a clue how she comes to merit the descriptor “Honorable?” Or can anybody put that on a piece of stationery and it flies?

I’ve been angry most of the day and took a late afternoon nap. Turns out I needed one because I really crashed. But I woke up feeling better and a lot more positive. Got some dinner cooking so I went online to see what’s up before I eat and see THIS shit.
I’m even more pissed off. I hope at 6:01pm President Biden FIRED her ass from that Board, and that during the interval between her little “I don’t answer to you” missive he had staff search to see if she has any other postings or appointments he can and SHOULD fire her from!
The right-wing loves this because anything that can be spun as grievance they eat up with a spoon. Look for this to be in the news cycle for a while.
Here’s what really gets me riled up: All three Academies have honor codes. While the wording varies slightly they all basically say that cadets/midshipmen will not lie, cheat or steal or tolerate those who do. It goes beyond that however in practice. Quibbling is considered an offense against the honor codes of both public and private military academies. The entire Trump administration, led by none other than Ms. Alternative Facts Kellyanne Conjob either flat out lied or used her “alternative facts” bullshit to quibble. If the Commandant of any of the Academies didn’t resign in protest (and to my knowledge none did) at having Conway or Spicer or others that routinely LIED on their boards shame on them!
But cadets/midshipmen could damn well see these assholes sitting up there all high and mighty and it’s not at all the example and/or message that should have been sent. People in such positions should be highly qualified AND have impeccable reputations. Sleaze, like shit rolls downhill and it’s a sad thing to contemplate how many academy grads have/will enter positions of leadership in our armed forces believing it’s okay to follow the example Trump and his appointees set for them.
My worst nightmare would be walking past any military academy office building and encountering either one of these freaks leaving the big doors in a hurry to get out to the local coffee/bagel cart guy … Kellyanne wearing her best nutcracker costume or Sean in his best dancing shirt …
