Donald Trump started his political life with a lie, and I have no doubt that he will end it with a lie. In his campaign, he told a rally audience that He could shoot somebody on 5th Avenue, and not lose a single vote. Trump won the election, and was such a douche that millions of GOP voters, including lifelong GOP strategists voted with their feet.
After being unceremoniously booted from the White House, Trump laid down a different marker. He started to proudly and repeatedly boast that if any state or federal investigator ever went after him, There will be millions of people in the streets in numbers that the country has never seen before!
Tonight on The Last Word, Lawrence O’Donnell did the best job of painting Traitor Tot I’ve ever seen. He noted that in Florida, Trump’s adopted home base, there are 5.6 million Trump voters. Yesterday the FBI raided Trump’s personal home at Mar-A-:ago. And the national outrage? Today there were more camera crew members and commentators in front of Mar-A-Lago than protesting Trump supporters. By most counts, there were never more than 25 of them at any one time, and most of them seemed to be there to be interviewed on camera.
O’Donnell went on. Nationwide, there were 74 million people who voted for Donald Trump in 2020. And yet there was not one report of a single pro Trump demonstration of any size that took place anywhere in the United States following the news of the raid. In short, Nobody cares!
To be sure, in the hours after the Trump announcement of the raid, the far right blogosphere went insane. On far right websites, there were quotes like When does the shooting start?, and In the coming days, they will feel true pain, and 1 idjit with 1.2 million followers tweeted out The war starts tomorrow, sleep well tonight.
But there’s one simple problem. The January 6th insurrection was a hybrid. It took Donald Trump to summon the mob together and turn them loose on the Capitol building. And with everything going on right now, and with Trump being a private citizen, with no presidential immunity, he doesn’t dare to try to pull something like that again right now.
And the far right militias are in disarray. Right now, there are 9 members of The Oath Keepers, as well as 5 national leaders of The Loud Toys that are sitting in jail awaiting Seditious Conspiracy charges. And there are national leaders of the 3%IQer’s also up on charges. There is no clear national leadership to rally the troops to a specific point and day, simply because there is nobody to name it!
Noiw, to quote Richard Nixon, Let me make one thing perfectly clear. The far right militias, the goose steppers, and the bedsheet banditos Don’t give a shit about Donald Trump! They were here long before Trump, and they’ll still be here long after he’s dirt surfing. Trump gave them air support to come out from under their rocks, and for that they owe him allegiance. But they don’t have the numbers or the coordination to accomplish their goals.
Right now Trump has bigger fish to fry. But if he’s indicted and perp walked into federal court, then he may well put out the call to his far right supporters, and then all bets are off. We are truly on a thorny path, with no smooth sailings in sight. Don’t touch that dial.

The warranted search of dumbo’s place might result in protests and quite frankly we all ought to prepare for such things. By prepare I mean get your cameras, video recorders, cell phones ready to record every scumbag participating. We KNOW their protests will result in violence: this they have proven at every turn. So let’s make sure we get very good pictorial/video evidence so every one of the bastards gets to join former guy in prison. We’re absolute fools if we do not take the events of January 6th as an example of what is likely to happen again should these morons decide to raise hell again.
